Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Have any of you noticed problems with running FAH4 as a service? I've noticed here at work that FAH has problems sending and receiving WUs when running as a service. But when I stop the service and use the console window it (most of the time) it will connect properly.
Will tinker with FAH5.
I'm eager to know what the standings are. I've opened the firewall at work (ahem) and added a few decent CPUs to the cause (without telling the boss). I've got 5 times the points since the last update! ;)
I know NOTHING about the ISA server, I just know where it is ;)
All i need to do now is remotely install F@H as services on the machines at work :D
Shhh!!!
There is no cure for this. Luckily I have access to the servers. I've created an Allow All Protocol on the ISA Proxy server.
Never mind, there's no need for the server to be locked down that much.
Or should I enable Basic Authentication instead?
Ahhh, takes me back to the good old days. I used to render on my 16MHz 286 with 1Mb Ram. It'd take 48 Hours to render a background and a glass ball at 320x200. I'd be up for lending cycles in the future.
Right, this Proxy lark is doing my nut in,
I figure I can add the Folding@Home service to alot of the work computers (I'm the IT Managers help), but it just will not connect to our ISA on Windows 2003. It's all a bit weird, my computer has downloaded serveral workunits, and olny returned a...
It's given up altogether now. I hasn't uploaded the last 3 completed work units and won't download anymore. I think it's time to reboot the server. I hate doing that, everyone in the office will have to sit on their bums for 15 minutes while the server starts back up :(
Best do it at lunch.
