Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I don't have a multimeter. I have however check the volatges in the BIOS and they all seem normal although the DDR2 voltage is at 1.94v and I think it's supposed to be at 1.8v (my system is not overclocked). I've been running the computer all day and to stress it I had a heavy Crysis session...
No, you were lots of help. I think the reason the fuse blew was because there was just too much stuff on at the time. Tv's, lights, dishwasher etc... I have done a visual inspection and can't see any abnormalities with the PSU or Mobo and the computer has been on for a while since it happend...
Here I am working away on my sig computer and suddenly a fuse blows in my house. I hear a pop and my computer ofcourse is instantly shutoff. Anyway I replace the fuse and go to turn the power on and I hear two more pops coming from my computer. It's on right now and everything seems to be...
I really don't know what the big deal with Crysis is. My comp runs it with everything on Very High (execpt shadows set to High) and 4xAA at 1680x1050 with no slowdowns. The thing about Crysis is that you don't need high FPS to experience smooth gameplay. So just run it, enjoy the game and play it :)
Look at the screens I have posted and you'll see that for some reason my 512mb 4870 is using shared memory! Why is this? It has 512 dedicated. It seems to be using the Hypermemory feature found on crap budget video cards. Is Windows and the Cat Control Center wrong?
I've noticed that computers are pretty fast these days and it got me thinking about upgrades. Do you actually upgrade because you're computer is not performing or just because you either want to or feel you should? Be honest now.
Also, is there anyone here who has built a really fast computer...
My new Asus 4870 is very loud considering it only has a single slot cooler. I downloaded GPU-Z and it says that it's running at 50% (2600rpm) at the desktop. I'm wondering if it would be safe to turn it down to say 30% and leave it there, not just at the desktop but under gaming load too. Or...
You could be right about the clock rates. If you look at my Variable bench marks when 4xAA is turned on the 4850 lost 11 fps and the 4870 barely lost 1 fps. So I guess that's where the difference will be noticed. When AA is turned on. AA performance is where I found the 4850 lacking which is the...
