I had the same problem with an old desktop that I have - Its an old Dell Optiplex, I kicked it and it turned on, but then the next day, I kicked it a bit too hard and I damages a component. Go figure :p

es, BillLeeLee is right when he said that there are some incosistances with Memorex. I used those CD's and other printable media before, and did have some trouble with bad labling quality and soem data not even being written to their discs
most of my media printing needs i use verbatim because I like the quality that it prints with. Also, for when your burning CD's too, I use verbatim because the lightscribe discs can store in the GB's of data
Verbatim, for me, is the better choice
Well, if you are running windows vista, there are some issues with the audio codec for some browsers and you will have to install a patch. A reccomendation that i have to you is to check simple things like your speakers to make sure that there are no loose connectons, etc....
