in an HOR+ game, a 16:9 and 16:10 monitor will both see the same vertical view of the game world, and the 16:9 will see more horizontally. so you see more of the game world with 16:9.

So basically I switched the TV from "normal" to "full" which made the image slightly bigger but changed the ratio. So then later on when I tried adjusting the scaling from AMD Catalyst Control Center, none of the scaling options worked since the display ratio on my TV was messed up.

What happened is when it was letterboxed, I changed the Display settings on my TV from "normal" to "full", hoping it would remove the letterbox...
when i reboot my computer, everything is full-screen BEFORE WINDOWS LOADS. when the BIOS stuff if diplayed on the screen, it's fullscreen. BUT once windows loads, the image is letterboxed on all 4 sides.
so it's obviously not a problem with the TV, it's something with my computer that's...

I'm using a 1080p TV, and my computer is set to output 1920x1080. Connected with an HDMI cable.
BUT, for some reason the image on my TV shows up letterboxed. why doesn't it map 1-1 pixels and use the whole screen?
