    Don't panic, I got a new fan too, and it grinds when cold as well. Seems like the ALL do. Use SpeedFan, you can control it.

    Yeap, once i got in far enough to flash the BIOS, we're at: PWM 57 (case still off) CPU 48 System 44 and the fans dropped out of hyperdrive :) Oh, and youer WILL need the newest SATA driver, here is the link http://www.siliconimage.com/products/sataraid.asp Thanks.

    from cold to 70C in less then 10 seconds? Not likely. And I've built plenty of PCs :) It runs fine so far (Si3112R driverscausing DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, but that's old news) so I'm leaning towards something mis-reporting in the bios.

    Immediately after boot... From the PC Heath BIOS screen PWM 46c CPU 73c and rising System 40c Are these numbers completely bogus or what's the deal? It shouldnt even be functional...

    Oh good grief, and here I was waiting for tomorrows Athlon 64 price cuts to order a SN85G4v2 with a 3200/1MB Pluses: - 939 more future proof - Gigabit ethernet - It looks WAY better without the card reader noone uses anyway. - maybe quieter and cooler? - will make the 85G4 cheaper :)...
