New and Improved Watercooling Sticky - Post Your Systems Here

I might in the future, yeah. But the PSU is a holdover from an older build... it was overkill there, though, too. I can't imagine I'll ever really need a 1200W power supply. But I figured it was better to have too much than too little.

New and Improved Watercooling Sticky - Post Your Systems Here

It was an attempt at a drain pipe; but it doesn't work very well. I'll have to redo it at some point.

New and Improved Watercooling Sticky - Post Your Systems Here

Hey all. I asked a question here when I was building this thing, figure I should post a pic or two now that it's done :D. I only have my phone for a camera, so the pics kind of suck. It was my first build with acrylic tubing, and that was definitely fun. The case is a Corsair 350D.

Difference between inlet and outlet ports

Hey guys. I just picked up the Alphacool Single Laing D5 Dual Bay Reservoir. It looks great, and fits perfectly in my case (the Corsair 350D)... but I'm having some trouble figuring out which port is the inlet and which is the outlet. There are only two ports, so is the inlet the top or...

Question about using an Intel Expander

Awesome, thank you guys. I was a bit concerned.

Seagate 4TB Vs WD 3TB Red (can't decide)

Well, from a purely anecdotal standpoint, I like Western Digital over Seagate. I"m currently using WD Red 3Tb's in my array, and they've been great. And they're silent as the grave... assuming you're not used to unusually loud graves. The Seagate 4Tb's do have a slightly better price-to-capacity...

Question about using an Intel Expander

Hey guys. I currently have an LSI 9260-4i, and have four drives hooked up to it. I'm planning on buying an Intel SAS Expander. I have the drives each individually set up as a RAID 0, essentially just using the RAID card to be able to hook up lots of drives. In order to hookup the expander, I'll...

    Build Advice for Chenbro

Alright, so I'm pretty decided on the Chenbro at this point, my only worry is that it seems to have a Mini-SAS backplane (except for the one site I've found that sells it with a SATA II/SAS backplane). I've done some research, and it seems like a reverse breakout cable might work here. But I've...

    Build Advice for Chenbro

I'm also considering the Norco RPC-4216, but it seems like Norco tends to make lower quality cases; on the other hand it's substantially cheaper than the Chenbro. Any thoughts? Preferences? Recommendations? They seem fairly similar, but if the build quality is going to be noticeably better on...

    Build Advice for Chenbro

I'm planning on building a home storage server (that will also function as a workstation), and, well, I'm kind of inexperienced with server building, so I've got a couple of questions. The chassis that I've picked out is the Chenbro RM41416; it's got 16 hot swap bays, so I'll have room to...
