HELP Overclocking 580 using MSI Afterburner

you compared two SINGLE GPU CARDS running in crossfire, to a single GPU card. i was originally speaking in terms of a single gpu card, vs a single card with 2 gpus on board. but thanks for being so precise and responsive. gonna go back to 4chan now where unnecessary condescending remarks...

HELP Overclocking 580 using MSI Afterburner

i was speaking in terms of single card. i didn't realize you meant running 2 vs 1. I dont know how accurate those reports are, as my single 280 pulls 60fps in bad company 2 with everything on high. but thats at 1080 res  anyways, for an extra 100$ i probably should have gone with...

HELP Overclocking 580 using MSI Afterburner

that would be 800$, sir! I'd love 2 cards over 1, but ATI has done me wrong in the past. Plus, Nvidia's single GPU cards are pulling numbers greater than ATI's dual GPU cards. And this way i can use my old gtx280 in SLI for physx.

    CPU bottleneck?

Im currently running an i7 920 at 3.2Ghz. My video cards are 2 way SLI BFG GTX 280 OC2 (mouthful). I recently had to put one of the 280's in the oven. All is good now, but i think its time for an upgrade. i plan on buying 2 Nvidia 580s. Im almost sure my CPU will be bottle-necking then...

My BFG GTX280 just died... no RMA

screwed up solder is what im hoping for. after talking to ASUS and Nvidia, they say they dont fix cards that they make or even know of places that do. so right now my only options are to driver sweeper, and pray. rotate the cards and see if it will pick up as card #2. or oven.

My BFG GTX280 just died... no RMA

BFG Tech isnt honoring their lifetime warranty, seeing as they closed down and are denying all RMAs. So right now im running on my other 280 after i removed card 1. Ive got green lines on boot up, and dots everywhere. When windows loads, i get a black screen. Apparently this means the video...

Windows wont detect my native resolution

I recently bought a Samsung 2333t 23'' 1080p HD monitor. Windows Vista 64bit's display settings do not give me the option to set the resolution to 1920x1080. The highest i can go is 1600x1200, but windows selects 1600x1024 by default. The only way i have found to set the resolution higher is to...
