    i already tried re-seating cpu and heatsink. i'm guessing it's the psu, but it's only about 5 months old. i am able to get my info off the hd, which was my main concern. i'll try the psu when i move, as all my pc stuff is already in the new place.

    monitor is alive, hooked it to laptop, and got video. the cpu is an athlon xp 3000 i believe barton core. i am also getting beeps with no ram installed. at this point, i just hope i can retrieve my info from the hd.

    i was trying to get to the main one through my network places, i tried to get it from run, but network path not found message popped up. this is happening on both sides, desktop and laptop give the same errors.
