Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Which dvdplayer do you use(when you say "movies" I suppose you mean dvds only). If the problem happens only with movies, try using a different program or changing the audio configuration within your existing dvd player.
did you make any changes, especially in the bios? check that all the usb ports are active from the bios, or just reset it if you cant find it. also check that everything look normal in the device manager, as someone mentioned above. a last option would be to try 'system restore'.
play around with the bios, the new hdds must have changed something there. you can try to assign all the drives manually, or you can even reset to factory defaults.
you can try the following: boot from winxp cd, do not install the driver again, delete and create the winxp partition in the listing page, continue with installation. the is a small chance your winxp cd is a bit dirty(had a problem with errors from a copy a while ago, had to use the original cd...
The first one looks like a pci-e connector. Look for the 4pin P4 or the 8pin EPS12V among your cables, the psu MUST have at least one of them(is the psu modular? check that you havent misplaced the cable somewhere)
Check the manual(im sure you can find it in the internet if you dont have it) for...
you can directly connect the 8pin on the 4pin, if nothing is blocking the extra 4pins hanging over the end(if the mobo is fairly new, you will not have problems with this). check your mobo manual, it will say at some point which part of the 8pin psu connector you have to connect to the 4pin mobo...
The corruption at half the screen AND the fact that unplugin the plugin again the cable fixed the problem sounds like a cable/port problem. use a different cable and if your vcard and monitor have 2 ports each and not just one, try to use the second ones instead. remmember to screw really good...
First thing i would do would be to to try and re-produce the previous working state. reset the bios, remove the extra hdd, see if it boots like before. if it does, check if you can change the memory according to kingston's specs(check the volts and the timings that kingston lists for the memory...
even if the chipset is identical for both your old and new mobo, a fresh win install is highly recommended for a lot of reasons. If you want to avoid this, the best thing in my opinion is to completely unistall the old chipset AND the video card driver(use cleaning tools as well, like driver...
thats a psu prob. my brother got the exact same problem a while ago. the fact that it didnt happen 1 year before is another hint(i bet you loaded the psu with some extra fans or hdds within this year and now it can not make it with the extra load).
