Help! - Strange Artifacts

So the story goes like this. Recently, my old motherboard got fried and I replaced it with a SiS 755. All was well until I tried to play some games. There was a lot of artificing - black areas and rainbows. I googled around and I thought AGP fast writes could be the culprit, so I disabled them, but the problem was still there.

When I run the D3D Cube test in DxDiag I get this:

UT2004 looks like this:

Regarding UT2004, strangely enough, it plays perfectly in OpenGL mode; it only gets the strange artifacts in D3D mode.

Have you monitored the temps? Also(just for checking) did you make a fresh win install after the mobo change?

I get the same in game artifacts. It's a problem with your cards memory and it'll need to be either replaced or RMA'd.

Card temps are low - around 55 degrees. I didn't reinstall Windows though. I have lots of stuff installed and I was hoping I didn't have to do that.

even if the chipset is identical for both your old and new mobo, a fresh win install is highly recommended for a lot of reasons. If you want to avoid this, the best thing in my opinion is to completely unistall the old chipset AND the video card driver(use cleaning tools as well, like driver cleaner), and reinstall the correct drivers. Also consult your 'device manager' for any problems. As for directx, is a bit tricky to unistall, but with some google you can find some solutions.

I followed denjerw's suggestion of a fresh win install. Now the DxDiag cube test works, but there is still the same problem when I play games. This is pretty frustrating :(. Maybe my graphics card is borked.

Aye those artifacts are a sure fire memory failure on your card. I'd RMA that thing in a hurry OR, if you're overclocking it, just lower your OC till it stops :D
