I have two monitors, an ASUS 27" and a BenQ 27". Both are 144hz connected via DisplayPort. Windows 10 64-bit. Extended desktop. Nvidia 980 Ti. Both have been calibrated using an i1Display Pro.
Whenever my monitors sleep, they lose their profile and I have to enter Color Management to "Reload...
Yeah absolutely. I don't watch movies on my PC, so it's never been a big problem for me, but I did have to bump up the center channel on my 5.1 home entertainment system. Dialogue needed the extra volume. I have never had a problem with dialogue in games, however.
Thanks for the image! The fact that they've split the sub and center and made them optional is great. In the past, I've always had to mess around with some combination of settings in both the card UI and Windows. The Xonar U7 doesn't allow for it, though, as it immediately changes the card...
Let me put it this way: Is anyone using the Sound Blaster Z for 4.1 with a phantom center? Or any other card for that matter (be it internal or external)?
I'm hoping to find a sound card the supports 4.1, or one I can at least "trick" into doing what I need it to do.
I have an older Auzentech card that worked fine, but it's starting to act up and I've since yanked it from the system.
I also have a Xonar U7 that I use as a headphone amp (albeit...
Received a reply from an ASUS rep:
Because I enjoy misery, I sent a response clarifying what I actually need.
...
So yeah, no help coming from ASUS on this one.
I recently purchased a Xonar U7, hoping the move to an external solution would solve a long standing and unstoppable ground loop issue within my tower (and I'm happy on that account, there is zero hum/hiss). I have a pair of Audioengine 5s up front, A2s for the rear, and a 12" Velodyne sub. I've...
My PB278Q has been up and running for about a week now and I'm loving it.
I've calibrated a few times using my spiffy new i1Display Pro and I'm quite pleased with the results. Is it perfect? Nope, but it's a noticeable improvement compared to my aging HP LP2475w. My single 670 OC has had no...
I am indeed using Firefox under Win7 64-bit. I do recall activating some kind of color profile several fresh installs ago. Haven't done so for quite some time. I wonder if that would help ...
So I've run calibration with my shiny new X-Rite i1Display Pro and the ASUS is looking much better, especially the blacks (no longer blue-ish). My only issue now is black crush.
I appear to be losing 3-4 boxes on the Lagom black test no matter how I tweak brightness/contrast/gamma. I've also...
Unfortunate limitations of the technology.
My primary television is a Panasonic VT50. Expensive, yes, but it does everything I want it to--deep blacks being first and foremost. If I could find the "perfect" display for my PC gaming, I'd spare no expense ... but she doesn't exist. Yet. I'm...
Just bought mine for $649. Snap it up at that price, so long as you're aware of and willing to deal with the limitations of the technology. Keep expectations reasonable and you'll love it.
Yeah, following a quick bit of research, the i1d pro appears to be the go-to choice for monitor only calibration. Hoping I can find one locally.
Thanks for the software tip, as well.
