    I've checked the connections power and such... I've used memorex cdr and dvd-+ and ritek media also .... all the blank media ive tried is all media that ive used already with great success ... both my drives a lite-on sohd-167T dvd rom (slave drive on primary ide channel) and a HP lightscribe...

    My hp 740b won't reconize any blank disks ... be it cd or dvd ... it will read all disks but when i try to burn something it says there is no disk . I tried updating the firmware from hp's site ... but nothing still could it be from some kind of update for windows that I installed or something...
