Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
if you're on a somewhat restrictive budget, q6600 now, pick up the 32nm 6 core i7 when it comes out next year? ddr3 cheaper then + cheaper mobos probably.
that's my plan.
I wouldn't doubt that there is a negative sales impact with file sharing, but not the magnitude proffered by the media industries. Remember not everyone who downloads would have bought it and not everyone who downloads will NOT buy it. Thus upon examination it's less cut and dried than at first...
q6700 is enough for me right now, but if I happen to have a job when this comes out and maybe even back to 5 day work weeks I may bite just for the novelty/e-peen.
mobos should be more reasonable and ddr3 even cheaper.
have been holding out forever, and it seems like the old 22" crt got a second wind but I don't know how much longer I have so I figure it's time to look for an lcd.
Coming from a CRT I'm picky about image quality. I hate blurriness in image/text very much on lcd's I've seen in a store (could be...
the trusty old CRT is going really blurry and popping more and more. This one isn't going to last much longer.
Don't wanna wait for shipping as use the comp for everything and don't have a spare.
I'd go for the Asus VW266H but nobody carries this locally as far as I can tell.
Only brick &...
q6700 3.4 (8 * 425) about 1.38v w/ true 120 unlapped load temps about 63
I've got a hid vid chip so it's taking more v than I want to use to get past 3.4.
Was hoping for higher but .7 ghz ain't bad.
yeah I got a q6700 g0 with a super crap vid 1.325 or something. My case is pretty small too with so-so cable management (lian li pc60usb). I'm stable at 3.2 with I think about 1.3 vcore. When I try to hit 3.4 I have to use close to 1.4 vcore and my load temps start getting unacceptably high...
I just put together a new pc and it's doing something funny.
When I turn it on it comes on, turns off after a second and then comes back on. This only happens when I've got everything hooked up. If I take one hd out of the equation it seems ok.
Am I tying to pull too much juice with everything...
Thanks for the detailed reply. Yeah I was a bit hasty in my search and I found it right after I posted :) doh
Didn't want to get a new case but I think I will just go with the antec p182 since I think my beloved pc60 is going to hold me back in the future (and it's always sounded like a 747...
I hope I put this in the correct subforum.
Ok here's the deal, I'm doing a much needed overhaul on my system.
My case is rather old and I haven't used any of the newer vid cards and I understand that they are significantly larger than their predecessors, especially the gtx 280.
I'm ordering...
