It doesn't give me the boot for CD option. I tried it on this computer and it works fine and when I put an XP disc in the other computer it shows up. And the drive I'm using is a DVD drive
Hey everyone, I was having trouble installing Vista onto a blank hard drive of mine. So I took it in to a computer store and they said that the version I bought requires Windows XP. Just wanted to make sure this is true, here is the one I got off of newegg...
ya the vista disc works on this computer
and the drive that on the other computer says dvd-rom on the front lol so i don't think that's the problem
and isn't the windows xp disc a dvd too? i used it in the same drive
its definitely not my cd drive, i put the XP disc back in and it keep installing before asking for my CD key
and yes it is a DVD drive :) i used the same drive to start the XP installation
ya i know exactly what you are talking about but it doesn't come up, it just goes straight to booting from the hard drive, which has the windows xp setup
i tried removing the hard drive from the boot priority but that causes it to not load anything
