    Yes it loads the XP disc but then it says that it cant find a hard drive. I have two sata drives in there and they do show up in bios.

    It doesn't give me the boot for CD option. I tried it on this computer and it works fine and when I put an XP disc in the other computer it shows up. And the drive I'm using is a DVD drive

    ya the vista disc works on this computer and the drive that on the other computer says dvd-rom on the front lol so i don't think that's the problem and isn't the windows xp disc a dvd too? i used it in the same drive

    its definitely not my cd drive, i put the XP disc back in and it keep installing before asking for my CD key and yes it is a DVD drive :) i used the same drive to start the XP installation

    ya i know exactly what you are talking about but it doesn't come up, it just goes straight to booting from the hard drive, which has the windows xp setup i tried removing the hard drive from the boot priority but that causes it to not load anything

    nope, the setup screen shows up on the 4th step, installing Windows, then it asks me insert the XP disc

    ah you are exactly right... i restarted with nothing in the cd drive and it did the same thing.... hmmm any ideas?
