Yes,
Which one at Monoprice did you get? Does it thread in?
I just ordered a Z906 to replace a wall mounted Klipsch GMX 5.1, and I want it in the air, too!
Peace be with you,
Christian Livingstone
Yeah,
I think one of the guys here in North America posted some pics of his silver/white EA231WMi model. It's in this thread somewhere. He had the same Klipsch GMX 5.1 sound system as I do, which goes well with the silver/white model.
So, maybe he'll notice your question, or maybe you can send...
Well,
I just gave one away, after upgrading to an NEC EA231WMI.
I'm mean, people can buy a good, new 24" TN panel, with HDCP, for under $200. Yeah, not IPS, but probably preferable for those without any monitor at all.
Peace to you,
C. Livingstone
Well,
One thing that may help you decide to upgrade is the HDCP compliance in newer monitors, if you like HD movies and similar content.
It 's really bad that HD content most often requires newer monitors, because people will not be as inclined to buy HD content, at least until they finally...
Well,
A 25.5" NEC LCD2690WUXi, factory-refurbished, can be had for about 700 bucks.
They are the IPS ones with the highly coveted A-TW Polarizer, which reduces white glow at certain angles.
Below are the specs.
So, with it's superior panel, larger than 24" size, and larger aspect ratio...
Well,
You have to pay attention to the source and direction.
Those $10 ones are for a DP source to an HDMI monitor, which is opposite of what I mentioned.
See the Note:
"Note: While DisplayPort connectors are capable of passing an HDMI signal, DisplayPort and HDMI signals are basically...
Yeah,
I was a little curious, as my Mac Mini has both DP and DVI out. And my NEC monitor has DP and DVI in.
So, with a lot of DVD players and gaming sources being HDMI out, I was wondering if my lack of HDMI ports would ever be a problem if I wanted to connect something else to my monitor...
Yeah,
After seeing hale's post, I notice the Cnet review of Samsung's XL2370 is outstanding.
It's LED, HDMI, and 2ms, and in your price range.
Wow, shopping is fun, even when you're no longer in the market for panels.
Peace,
C, Livingstone
PS: Oh, I just noticed the XL2370 is 23", and it...
Well,
If LED backlit is your main priority, as the title of your thread suggests, you're probably going to have to sacrifice on some point, whether it be price, ports, or 2ms response time.
I mean, if 5ms isn't fast enough for you, I'd first search to try to establish if there is ANY LED...
Well,
Dell's G2410 is a winner for what you're looking for, at around $250, even if it is a little plain looking and sparse on extra ports. It's a power bill saver, too, even at 24".
I haven't used it, but did consider it recently.
Cnet likes it. See below. Maybe Dell even makes one like it...
Yeah,
Someone here recommended the next step down to 46.9%, instead of 50% Contrast, to improve text a little, which it really does.
And, it's no secret that I'm diggin' my EA321WMi, even coming from the very well rated IPS Dell 2005 FPW.
Peace to you all,
C. Livingstone
