I have a friend looking to set up a Desktop setup for an XBOX 360. VGA adaptor from the XBOX to a monitor but the concern is tha audio.
Looking for a good 2.0 or 2.1 powered monitors that takes optical out. Also a good headphone out would be a bonus.

Spaceman will not steer you wrong with recommendations but if your dead set on getting a 5.1 headset then you will need an analog splitter.

I upgraded from an audigy 2 ZS to an X-fi extreme gamer and in source engine games the change was negligible. However for BF2 and Crysis I did notice improvements in environmental affects.
