Well in the UK 295X2 is down to £680 and 970's are between £250-£300 also 980's are £500+ I have a 295X2 in the box for my new build and im still unsure what to do, im not very good with choices. I do wonder what resale valuer a 295X2 will have in 18 months though,

UK distance selling law allows anything brought online aka remotely to be returned as no cost apart from postage within 14 days of delivery even if used. Just seems abit crazy not to get the latest tech, but a 295x2 does allow expansion and the Corsair 750D does have quite restricted airflow...

I ordered a 295X2 which arrives tomorrow for £685 , though i can now get 970 SLI for between £500 - £600. Im really not sure what to do, i went for the 295X2 to reduce the amount of heat dumped into my case, though it does look like 970's in SLI should run cooler than my 280X's. But on the flip...

I do agree with ashman on this , ironically I'm a storage specialist as my day job managing multiple petabytes on many platforms. But at home I use net gear nas's. They sit there and serve data fast enough to stream to a coupe of units at once. I am currently hitting some bottlenecks though...

Easiest is go reference or so and use the red mod aka closed loop cooler But with 3 cards in there might be tight , though looking at the reviews there doesn't seem much benefit in tri fire apart from some people say it feels smoother

Buy any card and use the red mod , quietest and coolest option by far

Its the limit of your hard ware, i had a play with my old 2.6ghz P4 and 720p using various codecs/players works mostly ok, once you hit 1080p no chance really. And as i recall the 7K series doesnt support DXVA acceleration properly, though im not sure even with a new vga card you will be ok...

Apple TV 2 running XMBC , imo . 720p is not an issue, on my 100" projector you can hardly tell the difference between 720p/1080p.

many thanks does seem strange you cant pass through 7.1 on a sound card, as your just asking for data to be sent undecoded. I did think about 8800GT and 5450 in the machine as well but there is only one PCIE slot it seems. Think ill sell the 8800GT and maybe but something that can play some...
