For various reasons I own several cards , and I'm getting a new I machine and I need to work out what to sell or buy
I have , 5850,6850,7850,7850 xt,7970
I'm using a dell u2410 and ideally I want games with all the options turned on, fps mainly.
Do I keep the 7970 and wait later to buy a 2nd for xf as I'm looking at getting a u3014 later this year.
Or do i keep the 7870xt and buy another for xf, considering 7870xt is $200 and 7970 is $330
I'm kind of lost at the moment, I could keep the 7870xt and at the end of the year buy e new amd or nv idea cards

Final thought could I xf the 7970 with the 7870xt ?

If you are going to buy a u3014 later this year, then I would keep the 7970 for sure. Wait for the next gen cards to come out at the end of the year, and you should be able to pickup a second 7970 for a good price.

the 7870XT(aka sapphire 7870XT or powercolor myst edition) can be used in CF with 7970 however you definitely will not get the most out of it.

What resolution are you running, games you are playing etc? I would probably keep the 7870 by itself or add another one(it has to be another XT if that is what you have or a 7850/7870 if that is what you have, 7870XT can only CF with 7900 series)

+1.

That u30 takes some power, especially for FPS games. Sell all those other cards and run 2 x 7970
