    vista 64 user switching

I have this same problem, but it's intermittent. I'm on Vista x86 and have an Nvidia card. Usually I can fix it by: Log everyone out Log one user back in Reset resolution But eventually that stops working too and I have to reboot. Same thing happens on multiple PCs I have.

    LG L246W

To be honest, I just don't know if/where the luminance value is stored in the EDID. If you can find how to alter the value in Phoenix and post the updated EDID here, I can help you with the Nvidia driver part.

Is it possible to export the entire EDID? OverrideEDIDFlags0 works by using an offset value, so I'd need to see the whole thing to know where in the EDID these values are.

Post the values of the EDID before and after the change. I'll try to help from there.

You would actually use OverrideEdidFlags0 instead of updating the EDID EEPROM. Some documentation can be found here.

For those attempting to update the EDID, if you have an Nvidia based card, you can override the EDID using the OverrideEdidFlags0 registry key.

L246WP display problem with HDMI video cards

Just to close this issue, a workaround exists for this on Nvidia cards. See http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?p=1032078646#post1032078646 For ATI cards, this has been resolved as of Catalyst 7.10

    LG L246W

I did a comparison between the working and non-working EDID and the only difference is the last byte (before the checksum) is a 0 instead of a 1. So really the OverrideEdidFlags0 value just needs to be: 1E 6D 3F 56 00 00 FF FF 04 00 00 00 7E 01 00 The first 4 bytes identify the LG...

    LG L246W

Thanks to Blahman in this thread, we have a fix for this issue. I will post the exact instructions later (it's a little complicated), but basically you need to use OverrideEdidFlags0 with an EDID modified so that number of extensions is 0 rather than 1. This seems to disable the monitor...

NVIDIA EDID fix for "bugged" Westinghouse LVM-37w3se

Blahman, That worked! I can't tell you how long I've been trying to fix this, returning video cards etc. In case the problem wasn't clear from my posts in this thread, I was able to select 1920x1200 etc. through the drivers, but the monitor was always being set to 1080p by the video card...

NVIDIA EDID fix for "bugged" Westinghouse LVM-37w3se

    The original EDID did not seem to have 1920x1200 in the Standard Timings according to Phoenix: EDID BYTES: 0x 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F ------------------------------------------------ 00 | 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 1E 6D 3F 56 2E 9E 00 00 10 | 03 11 01 03 8E 34...

NVIDIA EDID fix for "bugged" Westinghouse LVM-37w3se

I did uninstall/reinstall after modifying the inf and verified that the value was in the registry after installation. I used the Phoenix EDID program to import the current EDID and modify it, which I can provide.

NVIDIA EDID fix for "bugged" Westinghouse LVM-37w3se

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but the specs are: Monitor - LG L246W Video Card - ECS 8800GT Driver - 169.25 The issue is that the video card thinks the monitor is a TV since it's using HDMI. So it's forcing TV only modes like 1920x1080, 1280x720 etc. My suspicion is that it's due...
