Microsoft Unveils Windows 8.1 PC the Size of a Dongle; Has HDMI, USB, MicroSD

It's 5V 2A and I'm powering mine with an iPad charger plug at the moment. Not exactly a powerhouse to overheat. It runs off of USB power source. I'm wanting to see how manufacturers adapt cherry trail to this form factor, hopefully using the Atom x5 Z8500 and not the Z8300. The Z8300 has little...

Microsoft Unveils Windows 8.1 PC the Size of a Dongle; Has HDMI, USB, MicroSD

I have one of the iView CyberPC version of this I purchased from Newegg recently. I've wiped the drive on it and upgraded it to Win 10 Technical Preview. It runs better in Win 10 than in Win 8.1 IMHO. Finding the drivers is a small pain though as Win 10 don't detect most of the hardware drivers...

Valve VR leader joins Oculus R&D

IMHO, the main holdup is display tech right now. They need a display manufacturer that can and will make the panel in quantity at the right price.

    The Ouya Is Basically Dead

Ofcourse it's DOA. They never developed is as a publishing platform. All consoles are loss leader publishing platforms.

Microsoft Takes A Stand On Student Privacy

Sounds like marketing nonsense to me. They wanted positive PR so they took a stance at some event.

Crowdfunding 'Scammer' Speaks Out At SXSW

Success isn't defined back actually funding a Kickstarter. Success is defined by actually producing a product people want with the funds. Way too many academics trying to Kickstart stuff and can't convert it to actual product.

How The NSA Plans To Infect ‘Millions’ Of Computers

Just pondering, isn't Facebook an infection in and of itself? You don't post anything on Facebook and ever expect privacy.

Popcorn Time Deleted By Mega, MPAA Lawsuit Pending?

Never heard of Popcorn Time before this article. I always look at these sort of articles as bad viral marketing attempts. Taking bets the links to Mega really are still working. They just want people to try them and download it.

If power companies were smart they'd be the ones developing the cyber-currencies.

    AMD [H]ardOCP GamExperience - July 16

I'm uncertain if Dirt3 or the pre-warping software caused the CTD. I didn't look at the WER log generated. There was never any lock up or BSOD though. The game was immediately restarted.

Personally, my dream is 5x1P 30" IPS Dell panels and have the video cards grow into that pixel pushing size over the next generation or two. I currently run 6000x1920 5x1P as my desktop on dual 5870 E6 cards. The difficulty with 5x1P and 5x1L is that it only works on the 10.12a and 11.4 preview...

    AMD [H]ardOCP GamExperience - July 16

I also use Samsung 245BW's. The cool thing about them is they're out of production so long you can get them for cheap. The bad thing is the TN panel viewing angle makes it bad for 5x1P (which I use them for). The 5x1P is my desktop setup when I don't do the crazy multi-projection stuff in the...

    AMD [H]ardOCP GamExperience - July 16

Yep, SoftTH is a very unique utility. I initially suggested the multi-display options that eventually became SoftTH 2.0 back on their forums in 2007. It's been a long ride since then. I see AMD more receptive to the idea of the options SoftTH has than NVIDIA though. NVIDIA is very rigid with...
