    Choosing between three keyboards

If its not the mounting solution that is the problem, then what caused the high failure rate? Was it poor sourcing of the leds? I don't recall the k95 having the same issue.

Asus STRIX 970 GTX died within a month

Asus warranty and returns are generally worse compared to other reputable brands.

What are some of the weakness of build quality of current Razer keyboards?

Biggest pet peeve with modern mice?

Ditto. There doesn't seem to be any net improvement in new mice for a long long time apart from pointless cpi wars, outlandish designs and odd shapes which take getting used to. All the r&d is being wasted on fancy rubbery coating and lights to tempt ricer gamers to change their preripherals. I...

    I can't get away from the MX518..help!

The G400 is basically the MX518 without angle snapping (except for the very early batches) and so it is a superior mouse. The DA has improved alot throughout the several versions. I think the current one ro 2013 model is pretty good. Not sure about longevity though. The MX518 was a tank.

I cannot convince myself to get away from Scissor Switch

The cherry MLs might have a problem with binding if they are pressed off center. I think its a matter of getting used to cherry switches since the actuation distance is similar to scissor switch - 2mm, so you don't have to press down to the full travel of 4mm. You could try getting some low...

    Polling rate for peripherals

Would a high polling rate (say 1000hz) for peripherals break compatibility with linux/unix/mac or cause trouble with windows? What are the other downsides of having such a high polling rate?

    budget card recommendations please?

Raidmax is a very bad brand, on the same level as Huntkey/Powmax. Get those brands if you want to damage your pc. Corsair/Seasonic are good manufacturers. Theres a TX650 for $70 after rebate at newegg if you pick it up soon.

What brands are not utter crap these days?

For the OP, you'd be better of looking up for reviews and roundups on a specific model, instead of relying on a brand name to guide your purchase. Personally I consider XFX average to subpar. The double-d design gives poor cooling and the fans have a higher failure rate. One batch of Sapphire...

Could some1 please explain what REALLY is a refurbish motherboard?

Refurbs could be open but never used (maybe the user found it was incompatible) items or fixed products. No idea how reliable it is. Is the seller Asus or someone wanting to get rid of a returned/refurbed item? I would never buy a refurbed ssd.

    Radeonpro down

You're right it wasn't a network connection, it was a service support error message. I restarted the pc and it worked. I don't know why the service couldn't start earlier although it was set to automatic.

    Replacement Fan Recommendation for 5850

Its cheaper to just replace the fan than to get a new card if you don't mind shopping on ebay. And it should't be expensive if you can find one.

    Radeonpro down

Does radeonpro need to connect to some webserver during startup? I can't seem to get it working and got an error message about network connection.

Which Chrome opt-outs extensions to use?

I don't think so. Those 3 plugins address diff companies. But this might change in the future depending on how browsers handle privacy concerns.
