Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
That's true. I guess the better question is, 'would you get one?' Considering a UPS is as much as a few hundred bucks and my PSU is still under warranty for a couple of years.
I've had a few power supplies fail in the last couple years, and I always assumed it was because I was overclocking and stressing them out. Recently, my friend pointed out that it might be because I'm not using a UPS. But before I invest in one I wanted to get some more opinions.

Great news, thanks guys.
I was just about to ask about adding a GTX 260, when I say your sig xorbe. It looks like I'll be building almost a replica of your machine. They say mimicry is the most sincere form of flattery.
I'm specing out a new system, and I'm wondering how much power I'll need. Here's a list of the new parts I'm (probably) buying and the old parts I'll use until I finish the build after my birthday.

It seems to me that you guys both agree that dropping the multiplier wouldn't matter in this case. Do you think that is true universally? My mobo will go down to a multiplier of 4, so if everything else is equal is okay to go down to 4?
Will there be a difference in speed between running my opty 165 at 287 x 9 = 2583mhz or at 369 * 7 = 2583mhz? In other words, is it better to go for a few extra mhz in ram and/or the hypertransport system bus, or better to have the highest multiplier you can?
I plan on doing my own...
About 6 months ago when I overclocked my Opteron 165 I did it through the bios. It was my first overclock and at the time all I cared about was how high I could get the processor speed. But now I wonder if it truly is optimized. I am considering going back and redoing it all, and this time...
Actually, I thought about the 7900gt solution, but I figured I'd save some money with the 7600gt. I got a 7600 for $99, and the 7900 is more like $200 plus. I guess I could sell both of them and get close to the price of 7900. Is that what everyone else would suggest?

Hey guys,
New to this forum, but not exactly a newbie. I need some help picking a power supply, because I have a very unique system. I looked at all of the guides and nothing seemed to fit my situation. The reason I am asking is I am getting a second 7600 GT for Christmas, and need a new...
