I figured it out. It wasn't anything hardware related. Rather it was the RealTek audio driver, and I got that from another forum. Works like a charm now. Thanks.
Shoot. I hope it's not the mobo.
See here's the thing... when I plugged the onboard audio into my speaker it works great. But I know it must have something to do with the SPDIF. The video portion of the HDMI works great... just the sound! Argh! So frustrating!
I'm looking for...
Absolutely, I'm positive that I have it on the right headers on the mobo.
I bought the Razer AC-1 Barracuda Sound Card today off woot.com
Hopefully that will solve the problem? I don't have a sound card with SPDIF, so that's why I purchased the Razer AC-1 Barracuda Sound Card.

I have a MSI 8500GT card and it has a HDMI port. For some reason I can't get the audio to work with the HDMI cables.
Would this be a solution to that?
I'm currently using an Antec 430 case along with an Asus P5E-VM HDMI motherboard. I have a MSI 8500GT video card that has both DVI and HDMI. I bought the HDMI cable and no sound works at all.

I bought the Logitech DiNovo keyboard for my HTPC. It's been working great so far!
I got this a few weeks ago when it was less than $100.
Logitech DiNovo Keyboard from buy.com

I still can't get it to work! Any ideas?
It worked.
What is was is that once I plugged in the hard drive it was showing as a drive failed which I know for a fact that it hasn't failed.
I went into Device manager and rescan, it found the hard drive, then went into the Computer Disk Management and then reactivated disk and worked...
I have a MSI 8500GT card with a DVI and HDMI port. It supports 1080P and the picture on my TV looks fantastic. Only problem is that the audio doesn't work with the HDMI cable?
The card has a SPDIF "In" connector and when I plug it into the SPDIF "out" connector on the mobo it still does not...
