I figured it out. It wasn't anything hardware related. Rather it was the RealTek audio driver, and I got that from another forum. Works like a charm now. Thanks.
Shoot. I hope it's not the mobo.
See here's the thing... when I plugged the onboard audio into my speaker it works great. But I know it must have something to do with the SPDIF. The video portion of the HDMI works great... just the sound! Argh! So frustrating!
I'm looking for...
Absolutely, I'm positive that I have it on the right headers on the mobo.
I bought the Razer AC-1 Barracuda Sound Card today off woot.com
Hopefully that will solve the problem? I don't have a sound card with SPDIF, so that's why I purchased the Razer AC-1 Barracuda Sound Card.
Would this be a good solution to go with my HTPC?
I have a MSI 8500GT card and it has a HDMI port. For some reason I can't get the audio to work with the HDMI cables.
Would this be a solution to that?
I'm currently using an Antec 430 case along with an Asus P5E-VM HDMI motherboard. I have a MSI 8500GT video card that has both DVI and HDMI. I bought the HDMI cable and no sound works at all.
So, I decided to buy the Asus SPDIF Module out so that I can plug it into the headers on the...
I bought the Logitech DiNovo keyboard for my HTPC. It's been working great so far!
I got this a few weeks ago when it was less than $100.
Logitech DiNovo Keyboard from buy.com
Yesterday, I received the SPDIF out module from Asus. I plugged int the headers into the motherboard and from the MSI 8500GT video card there was a SPDIF "in" plug that I plugged into the SPDIF module. The end of the plug is yellow.
I still can't get it to work! Any ideas?
It worked.
What is was is that once I plugged in the hard drive it was showing as a drive failed which I know for a fact that it hasn't failed.
I went into Device manager and rescan, it found the hard drive, then went into the Computer Disk Management and then reactivated disk and worked...
I have a MSI 8500GT card with a DVI and HDMI port. It supports 1080P and the picture on my TV looks fantastic. Only problem is that the audio doesn't work with the HDMI cable?
The card has a SPDIF "In" connector and when I plug it into the SPDIF "out" connector on the mobo it still does not...
Hot plugging?
So basically let Vista load, then take the power plug (for SATA) and the data cable and plug them right in?
That's interesting, I've never heard that you could do that...
Once the status bar comes up, it quickly reboots. I can see the BSOD for about a sec and goes back to the status bar. In other words, it keeps looping...
I have an Asus P5e-VM HDMI motherboard along with a 150GB Western Digital Raptor (Boot) and a 1TB Western Digital Green Drive.
It currently has Vista on the PC.
History - I had already configured the machine the way I wanted it and I bought the 1TB HD as a data disk. Initally out of the box...
OK,
So I went to the Soundgraph website and I downloaded 7.01.0204. I didn't download the 7.01.205 version because I couldn't find it for some reason. Well, I just downloaded SP1 for Vista and installed the latest version of IMON that I could find and still doesn't show... see the images...
I recently built a basic HTPC vista machine, and for some reason, when I try to share the folders on Vista, the XP machine cannot get access to it.
On the XP machine when I go to "network neighborhood" it sees the Vista machine. The same for Vista when I do the same thing, it can see the XP...
I just recently put an Asus P5E-VM HDMI along with the basic components (CPU, Memory etc). I also installed Vista onto the system.
I successfully installed the LCD drivers and works just fine.
I can't manage to get the volume knob to work with Vista. The "VFD" driver is installed and...
Thanks for the suggestion. I have a TV that supports up to 3 HDMI sources. I'd like to utilize the HDMI onboard ports if possible. If not, then I'll go this route if I don't really notice a difference. My TV has one VGA port. No DVI. That being said, and from reviews that the onboard...
I have a question and I don't mean to thread crap, but my TV has a VGA port and two extra HDMI ports. The motherboard I'm looking to buy supports HDMI and also has a DVI plug that plugs into the HDMI.
Now will the picture look ok if I use a VGA cable, plug that into the DVI Plug that...
I'm thinking of picking up this motherboard for a HTPC setup. What do you guys think of this setup? I'm not looking to spend too much money. I figure that would be the bare minimum since it already comes with onboard video, onboard sound, and I have a spare 500GB hard drive. I will be...
I currently own the 2001 FP. It's in excellent condition. I do alot of programming and not much of a gamer. Is it worth the upgrade and trying to sell my 2001fp? I need a dual monitor setup and I know that it will make my life easier when it comes to being more productive.
Is it possible to smell the leakage?
If it were the PSU, then would it power up all of the internal devices (fans, dvd burner, hard drive etc.)??
Also wanted to mention that I probably use this machine 1-2 twice a week and even if I do my wife uses it just to browse the internet for no...
Asus p4c800 E-Deluxe board
Intel 2.8 HT
Corsair 512 x 2, forgot the model number
ATI 9800 pro, 128MB
I forget the exact specs because it's been a very long time since I paid any attention to it.
So say if it was a failing Mobo, would it still light up or a sign of a failing mobo is...
No my LCD didn't shut off at all. It just went to a black screen, with the indicator light being orange. It looks as if went to power saving mode.
This happened with I was just searching for some word documents.
The problem is that I'm not sure where to begin as far as...
I built my machine probably 3 years ago. It's been running fine with no problems. All of a sudden my Dell 2001FP goes blank but yet the machine is still running. I thought was very odd. So I shut it off manually. Power it back on it shows the Asus logo. With that being said, now I know...
I currently have a WRT54GX as my main wireless router downstairs. I have an xbox and a replayTV upstairs, but I dont' want to hardwire my house. Is it possible to have a WRT54GS connect to the WRT54GX? I want to plug my xbox and replayTV into the ports of the WRT54GS. I hope this make sense!
I'm here in my linksys router page. Should I forward the port ranges from 22 to 80 or something? Also what would my internal ip address be? (i.e 192.168.1.__)
Is there anything else besides SSH2 that I can use?
I just recently moved out to another state for business and I'm having trouble trying to remotely access my computer at home. I use VNC and PcAnywhere and tried to plug in the public IP address and I'm not having any luck. Is there a VPN or any type of tools that I need to use to access my...
