Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Thanks for trying to help Sunin! I'll try to answer your questions here:
No, I haven't tried because I thought my 400W Antec PSU should be provide sufficient power for only one hard drive and one CD-ROM with a 1GHz CPU running concurrently.
Yes, I tried different power connectors from...
With the new hard drive(s), the computer won't even turn on. But as soon as I switch to the old hard drive it boots up fine. All that is connected is the power cord. I just wouldn't think that I would have got 2 bad hard drives. I'll have to see if the new hard drives work inside another box...
I have a computer that has 1 hard drive and 1 cd-rom that boots perfectly.
I just bought two brand new Maxtor hard drives over black Friday. When I connect one of them up with just the power connector the power supply unit seems to short out causing my system to not be able to turn on. So I...

Unfortunately, I already tried switching the CD-ROM with no luck. It seems no power cable doesn't want to be nice and work with the new hard drives. The video card is an old Trident PCI video card. I left the IDE cable out to explicitly see if this was a power issue. Thanks for help!

Ya, I think the PSU is the cause too. I just wanted to get a second opinion. I'm going to switch it with a Antec 400Watt i have around. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for all your help!
Just recently my computer has been randomly turning off and then my CD-ROM light blinks green on and off with no CD in the CD-ROM. Sometimes the computer doesnt fully turn off and just terminates signal to my monitor, because I can hear my fans and see the optical mouse still having power. The...
I have an old IBM Aptiva 2153 that I would like to replace the PSU by swapping one in another box. The current bad PSU in the IBM is a 95 Watt PSU. Would you think if I switched it with a 200Watt or above PSU this would work/be safe? Are the PSUs on these old computers proprietary to the one the...
I have a Gigabyte GA-7VA rev. 1 which suddenly does not boot. It was working perfectly well, but now when I push the power button the CPU fan starts for about a second and then it shuts off. I'm not sure if my PSU went bad or if it is the motherboard. Any ideas?
