    tried... well the new ram has the same voltage as the old 1.8v.. i'm not sure what's wrong really... replaced the power supply still does it... turns out that the new ram is dead it wouldn't post with my other mobo either but this mobo just won't stay on anymore

    that's the PCIe power plug from the power supply make sure yours have those connectors then you won't have to use them..if your power supply is over 500W it should have 2 of those connectors for you already and you have to plug in both or the card might not even run.. i'm waiting for the same...

    i got the gskill ddr2 800hmz from newegg... and yeah reinstalling isn't that fun.. i did it twice in a week once for the ECS mobo and again a week later for the gigabyte mobo.. oh wells ... you should just wait then reinstall it's hard to get your desktop the way you like it again.

    Q9300 idle temps

    for me coretemp reports 55C while real temp reports 40C.. that's a wide range .. i don't know what to believe
