Hi, i've had this setup for awhile now..

mobo: gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l
vid: asus 4870 DK 1gb
ram: 2gb(2x1gb) gskill
2 hd & 1 dvdr drive
power supply: coolermaster igreen 500W

it's been running great for a long time now.. but today i went and bought 4gb of ram corsair xms2(2x2gb) i put it in the mobo... it didn't post... so i took it out thinking may be the ram is bad.. it posted and booted into windows fine..

so i took out the old ram just using the new ram only.. it didn't post.. so i figured the new ram is bad.. or not compatible... so i put the old ram back in... now it won't post.. it just turns on/off every 5 seconds or so.. it'll turn on.. fans will spin then turns off and it repeats... any ideas??

i tried clearing the cmos but that didn't help.. i'm out of ideas.. it still does it with nothing just the mobo + vid card so can't be the power supply.. please help i'm out of ideas.:confused: thank you

My DS3R does this sometimes. Unplugging the power cord for 5-10 seconds usually does the trick. You may have to do it a few times but it will work. Chances are the problem is that you didn't set the voltage correctly on the new ram.

tried... well the new ram has the same voltage as the old 1.8v.. i'm not sure what's wrong really... replaced the power supply still does it... turns out that the new ram is dead it wouldn't post with my other mobo either but this mobo just won't stay on anymore
