Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Yeah it is the STOP 0x0000007B error code (with a bunch of hex numbers instead of INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE). I was planning on re-installing windows anyway with all the new hardware. Attempted recovery tools to restore mbr\boot files but it believes my recovery tool is not compatible with...
Well well turns out ATX 12v cable was just slightly loose. Now I get a BSOD when windows boots (win7-x64 installed on previous hardware) so will continue to troubleshoot including checking BIOS settings for power.
I only get a very brief flash of what looks like a zero (on the right digit) with a missing half of the left verticle line. There is no digit or letter on the left side.
Nothing like this is referenced in the manual.
I just assembled a new build but intended to use my old trusted PSU for the near future.
Unfortunately when I power up my machine, the lights turn on and fans start to spin but then everything goes dark after a second and the cycle starts over and over.
I know Haswell and old PSUs do not mix...
How would you rate the performance of an 3570K overclocked (nothing extreme, on air) vs i7 3770? I have a chance to buy either one at about the same price.
How much does decent air cooling cost for the 3570k?
Yeah I'd expect the price range to be similar to the current gen but would like to see how much the price drops on the older generation.
For example: will an i7 3rd gen be same price as an i5 4th gen but provide better performance/better bang for the buck? If not, I may as well go with the new...
Thanks, that is good to know. I can certainly wait and from a quick search seems like an official announcement should be made first week of June.
This said, I'm not sure how much better this generation will be vs the previous one. I do not mind buying a higher-end older gen if the price...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, watching HD video/streaming, Running multiple VMs from time to time.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Flexible budget depending on parts needed to be replaced. Looking to upgrade to an...
The card idles at around 60C with the fan set to 82% so I do not think it is an overheating/fan issue. I do not have any additional cooling for the card and no overclocking has been performed.
I guess I'll let eVGA do the baking and I hope their RMA service is as good as advertised. :)
I have an almost two years old EVGA 8800 ULTRA and I suspect it might be dying on me.
It started with freezing couple days ago under Vista when playing video games (L4D and T2). The freezing would be preceded by red pixelations on the screen. Alt+Ctr+Del would get me back into the desktop...
I am in Canada, but the price here is not too bad either (19.99 after MIR) and since I have to buy another item, the shipping cost is not that much more. I guess I can always try to sell them if they do not work properly.
I already have a set of 2X1GB TWIN2X2048-6400C4 which wark greats at the moment. I am looking into adding another set of 2X1GB of the exact same type of memory as I want to install Vista. I was just wondering if there might be any issues with this setup?

Performance is important as this will be my primary drive. From other readings, the black seems to be the performance drive and green is more for storage but I am still trying to see if the price difference is worth it, $20 difference over here.
Now, I am also considering a slightly smaller...
Anyone has any recommandations as to which of the two drives (WD1001FALS caviar black or WD10EADS caviar green) would be better for a primary HD home usage?
Thanks
