    Core i7 Heat Issues?

Yea the bleed would probably sort it but they're not user-serviceable, luckily Corsair customer support seems to be pretty good so I'll have a closer inspection tonight and maybe fire them a quick email. Naturally I'll come back crying if the backup H50 does the same thing, but cheers for the help.

    Core i7 Heat Issues?

Good point with the rad, I'll check when I get home. The pump still reports its RPM though, would that stop if it was jammed/broke? Luckily I have a spare H50 from my old q6600 rig lying around, didn't want to disturb it but looks like I'll have to to rule out a fault with this one. I did...

    Core i7 Heat Issues?

No overclock Tim was razor thin (I use a glove to spread it and take my time) Heatsink appears to be sat correctly (tight as can be, rear bracket flush) So I'm guessing its the H50. Guh. Would a faulty H50 really cause temps that high? I mean the fluid will still convect if the pump was faulty...

    Core i7 Heat Issues?

My i7 hits about 97c under full stress (Prime), with a Corsair H-50, it's a new build but surely this can't be a reasonable temperature? I tried once using stock TIM and once again using Arctic Silver 5, same result. Anyone have this setup? I'm beginning to think the H50 is faulty...

    RAM Issues on X58 Boards

Heh I didn't admit it to the website I was RMA'ing it to ;) But to be honest it was totally intermittent, and there's no guarentee it couldn't crop up again...

    RAM Issues on X58 Boards

Well I feel stupid. After disassembling the entire rig to RMA the motherboard I found a small case screw lodged in between the pins on the back of the DIMM slot that was giving me trouble, seems to be running fine now. Doh.

    Upgrade or New System

PSU = His is a good make and should have a decent warranty, no need to upgrade. SSD/HDD = Sort of agree, although I went from a regular 7200RPM to an SSD and the performance increase for gaming wasn't all that much, let alone from a Veloci GFX = Agree. Anymore than a 460 and the CPU/Memory...

    RAM Issues on X58 Boards

Asus P6X58D-E & 6GB Corsair XMS3 7-7-7-20 Installed: 6138MB Shows: 4088MB Oddly after a few reboots it showed fine, 3 days later and it cropped up again. When it shows 4GB the machine BSOD's under load, when it shows 6GB it does not. RMA is in progress. RAM is fine, survived 4 hours of...

    Upgrade or New System

I've actually just upgraded from nearly your exact specs. Weird. Core2Quad Q6600 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz XFX 750i SLi 2 x XFX GTX275's SLi My advice is upgrade. On my two 275's the CPU/RAM was the major bottleneck, I was expecting to see a mild performance gain in what I moved to (see...

Wireless Keyboards and Mice in a call centre?

To me, this sounds like a bad idea, but Lenovo's business all-in-ones (A70z) come with wireless keyboards and mice. After speaking to Lenovo they seem to think there should be no issues with having 100+ of these machines within 1m of two or three others, but something tells me that that many...

    Looking for advice on WHS

Can you not install WHS on the same drive as data? I was going to go with two drives in RAID1 with data + WHS on, is that not possible or do people just generally like to keep the two separate?

    RAID Question

Yup, duplication is performed at hardware level, Windows sees one volume. I'm assuming you could test this by taking a drive out and sticking it in another PC but I've never actually done this (so don't do it unless someone more knowledgeable tells you its OK).

HP MicroServer + Advance Format Drives

I know its a fairly new product so not a lot of people will have one yet, but if anyone has a MicroServer and some AFD's could they post here if they are working? Going to pick up a MicroServer next month and whack Ubuntu server on it, and a pair of WD20EARS in RAID1. Potentially a lot of...

Final Fantasy XIV Official Release Thread

Not been boomeranged back anywhere yet, menus still ridiculous, didn't craft in beta so couldn't say. Generally feels smoother and less laggy (though still far from perfect), occasional crashes but less than beta. So basically what you'd expect in moving from Beta to Live. As a note for...
