    So going through the spec's on Newegg (yeah, i know...) and it lists the "2d refresh rate" as 56 - 75 Hz and 3d as 120 Hz. I'm not too up on monitor tech these days - does that mean that I'm not going to see 120hz unless I'm running stereoscopic 3d? If so are there any monitors above 24"...

    I'd really doubt there being two different DACs. The only thing I can think of is running through USB would bypass any software coloring being done by the Realtek chip.

    Windows 7 + Audigy = no mic

    hmmm.. I just moved to W7 x64 from x64 XP without a problem. I have an audigy SE - not sure the differences between our cards. I did, however, have to turn on the +20db mic boost in the audio properties to get it audible in Skype. Maybe try that?
