Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Does your board allow you to change Read Preamble or Max Asynchrnous Latency? If so try loosening them up about 1ns each.
Also its slightly possible your chipset needs a voltage bump. Also are you sure temps aren't a concern here?
Wow, I'm surprised you haven't smoked that thing yet. Running 4.75v through that cpu is EXTREME. Should have almost automatically went up in flames. :p
OP: Get yourself a decent x2 or opty and overclock it to the high heavens. If you are comfy with overclocking if not, get yourself an FX60.
I came from using an AC64Pro and there is a dramatic difference in noise and temps. I have considered adding to the loop but really find no need to. The Nautilus just works pretty damn good. Perhaps a fan upgrade to the unit could help too but I don't really care because it works good.
I...
40-45C sounds good.
I'd rather it be a *little* higher than normal just for a more real world representation. Not only that we get to see how well they perform for the average builder.
My current case temp is 35C.
In the summer I'm sure it will hit 45C
rofl
very good point you have.
To the OP: I ripped my seagate drive out of its external shell and put it inside my pc. Could also do that. They messed up on my RMA I ended up gettng a 750GB External drive for RMA'ing my 300GB Internal.
Man oh man.
When I ordered my Arctic Cooler I was in awe of its sheer size. The thing is pretty big and the pictures do it no justice. In my rig it sticks out width wise as far as my videocard and other PCI cards. It overlaps just barely one memory slot closest to it so I had to modify the...
Let me/us know how it goes, if its stable or not or etc. Good luck!!!
BTW mine idles around 35-36C and loads around 45-47C with 1.51v
Mine has an arctic cooling freezer 64 pro on it though and 3 120mm case fans.
I've been doing it for years. Getting more bang for my buck per say.
This 3800+x2 stock is 2.0, mine is running flawlessly at 2.75ghz. That's a major, major gain in processing speed and I definitely noticed it in benchmarks and general computing. Games increased a lot too, especially those...
The cpu in my sig got me a nice 2.75ghz pretty easily. I can't get it stable above 2.85ghz though. It'll do 2.5ghz @ stock voltage, and 2.75ghz @ 1.51v. To get it stable at 2.8 requires 1.58v. To reach 2.85ghz requires a quite high 1.67v.
Information about my chip is in my signature. I've...
If you don't need the shell you can get the drive out. Took me about an hour to do it but I did it. I received a 750GB External drive from my seagate rma of a 300GB drive and decided to rip the drive out of the shell and put it into my PC. Works like a dream.
I do know how to do so if...
