Pixel 11 / Pixel 11 Pro / Pixel 11 Pro XL / Pixel 11 Pro Fold

I wasn't planning on moving on from my Pixel 9 Pro XL, but the trade-in value ($900) is just too good to pass up. Especially with the rising cost of tech devices. If I wait I risk getting less trade-in value and only having a more expensive device next year.

Here's to hoping the Pixel 11 Pro XL on the way will hold until the tech prices come back to sane levels.

i got my pixel 11 pro xl yesterday!

not to bad for me .

went with a spigen pop case abd glass screen from them .

The fact that phone aesthetics are still a think is confounding to me. All look exactly the same to me.
Not just aesthetics like color but the material of the case. Practically no one uses a phone without a case because it's almost guaranteed to get busted and the moment a case gets slapped on it you can't see anything but the screen. The material of the body is also irrelevant because the case is doing the protection, not the body of the phone.

The case I got for my phone has a translucent back but it's useless because the mint green of my phone is so light that it can't be seen anyway.

Spot on. Even if you try to get around it with a clear case to show off the back, you end up with a slick polycarbonate shell that offers zero grip and inevitable UV yellowing.

P11PXL all set up and ready to go. Gotta give a big (y) to the Dbrand Tank. It's replaced the Grip as my favorite phone case. The camera protection alone makes it superior to the Grip.

I am so tempted to trade in a P7 and get a P11 but I just got a 9a at launch of last year. Trade in value of P7 is $330. Must resist....

In almost the exact same place. My P7 is fine, but OS/security updates end in a year. Plus, there's a $100 store credit if buying an unlocked by 8/27. So right now a P11 is far cheaper than a P10 (P7 to P10 trade-in is only $95). Main thing holding me back is I'm really looking at moving to GrapheneOS and it's still too early to know if the P11 will be properly supported.

Got my wife's phone setup today. She was surprised how much faster it is over the Pixel 8.

Walmart issued me a Pixel 8a last week I like the screen. They issue Pixel 9a as well. They gave me a referb from a long gone associate. There are some crumbs in the USB C port that I can't get out with air. So I have a Amazon cleaning kit on the way. There is a error when trying to clock in sometimes gives me a jump scare everytime. Think its the Walmart App we use. The phone I used to have was a Samsung Xcover so glad I have a oled phone now.

Thinking of picking up a 10a for general prrsonal use.

Received by 11 Pro XL yesterday (16GB/512GB model). Coming from the 9 Pro XL I'm actually quite surprised at the differences I see. Not in the physical phone but in the software. Just little things that weren't there on the 9 but are there on the 11. Google Maps via Android Auto is visually different in certain places. Like the bubbles that show different routes. It's cleaner and I get multiple routes now depending on where I am. Previously I'd only see the route I'm on and maybe one alternative. Now I'm getting 2 or even 3 alternatives.

HiLight is a neat gimmick. However, it's only really useful if you're the type of person who puts their phone screen down on the table. Probably the same type of person who puts the toilet paper on the holder backwards.

There's other visual cues that the 11 has over the 9 especially in the Settings menu.

Overall I'm quite happy with the upgrade.

I see a nice upgrade over my 9 pro. The main reason I went with the upgrade is the 25watt wireless charging. Doing gig jobs really drains the battery where my pro and 15 watt wireless was not enough

No issues with mine as of yet. I am really liking the battery life over my 3 year old pixel 8.
I can get out of work with 70% battery where the old one was at 20%.
I am so 100% into wireless charging now. Still replacing all cables around house with snap chargers.
No more port damage.

I got the Sept 1 update on day one but wifes is still not on that yet.

Sorry this isn't a Pixel 11 question, I have your Pixel 10 Pro XL and have this weird massive stutter issue with using one app.

Google Meet video chat.

Video chatting with my daughter and also using my phone at the same time, and my phone gets super choppy and laggy and like it's set to pour 30hz refresh rate or something.

But this seems to be the only app that causes this, 90% of the time this phone is very smooth and fluid.

clear cache and temp files. Video chat was pretty laggy sometimes on my 9 pro

Trading in a Pixel 3XL that has a mild expanding battery. But I kept it at 0% charge for an entire year so it wouldn't get worse. I bought some phone repair epoxy and just sealed it shut and it makes the problem go away.
I have some other phones I'm repairing, so I need the epoxy.

The Pixel 3XL Trade in value is $33.
My Current Pixel 6A Trade in Value is.... only $30?? WTF?
I mind as well epoxy the 3XL and trade it in, lol. It's the 128GB model that still works.

I’d trade Face ID and on screen FPS for my old 3XL’s hardware FPS in a millisecond.

My beef with FaceID, is that after it instantly recognizes you, you still have to swipe up to get your home screen, or at least it was that way when I last had an iPhone, the 12 Pro Max. I would assume Apple fixed that and changed since then, because that's the dumbest concept ever.

With Android and Pixel 4 XL they had a FaceID and still have the fingerprint scanner, and it opens up to the home screen immediately, doesn't force you to pull some finger gymnastics to still swipe up like crApple does.

well didn't the Pixel 3 XL's battery have a pretty bad pillowing problem? The battery was already replaced once, and then the replacement started to pillow up.

It's actually nice in that you don't have to be sucked into your phone after authenticating. You can see if there's anything important and lock it again if there isn't. That and Live Activities give you some of the info you were looking for anyway, like your Uber status or sports scores.

Hey, you could always get the iPhone foldable — it's apparently using Touch ID due to the physical limitations of a folding screen.

Id definitely get a new iPhone if iOS had a universal back button or gesture.

I'm so used to years of Pixel phones and how the gesture UI works.

And the Google News feed on the far left side of the homescreen, I'm so used to that, not having it anymore is just a deal killer. And yes iPhone's can have news widgets and stuff on the far left screen too, but nothing even remotely close to what the Pixel left screen does.

They're giving me $30 for my Pixel 3 (non-XL) 128GB that shuts down whenever it has a mild thermal load. Not damaged, but a defect that showed up well after the warranty period that I've had to deal with for years. Also, the defect causes it to shut down when fast charging. Phone has been otherwise usable as a phone, just probably not gaming. Anyway, I'll take $30 for a 7-year-old phone. Google can figure out how to fix the problem or use it for parts.

My Nexus 6P had a somewhat similar issue and I got some money from a class action lawsuit.

I've switched to using WhatsApp for video chatting just for this reason. I suspect Google Chat/Meet doesn't actually support the native (AV1 I think) hardware video encoding or something, so it uses excessive CPU and causes the phone to overheat and throttle. I don't have this issue while using WhatsApp or even Facebook on my wife's Pixel.

I've tried to search to verify and couldn't verify that though, but either way it's funny they Google's own chat app is obviously not as optimized for their own hardware as other common third party messaging apps.

Sucks they will not support GrapheneOS, Guess I will have to see if i can find a deal on a 10 pro.

My current Iphone 15 will be my last iphone, the Ai integration is too much.

The 11PXL is a good phone. I'm pleased with it. The overall user experience is the best Android offers.

I wouldn't have upgraded from my 9PXL if my brother didn't need a phone, though.

Watching videos like this, reminds me why not to get an iPhone. So many basic standard features and stuff in Android is missing or not even there in iOS, which to me makes iOS feel like it's 15 years outdated in certain areas. Yes the iPhone 18 Pro [H]ardware is top notch best of the best for sure, but iOS seems so lacking.
