Tony Ou, so I just read that the new Raven case's , in addition to the Alta S1's development have been suspended.

Is there any possibility of a new high end case from Silverstone being released in 2021?

I don't mind waiting if I have to, but I rather buy one of Silverstone's amazing cases to support your company. My ft-02 is still superb, it's just lacking modern comforts.

I like the Alta F1's look, but it's just a bit too small for my liking. But if nothing is on even the semi-distant horizon, I might have to give that a good hard look. Even though that case is M.I.A too

If circumstances are right, we would very much like to release new RAVEN and ALTA S1 in 2021. Though the RAVEN is further along in the development cycle so it has a better chance.

ALTA F1 is probably a safer bet for now for worldwide release than the other two cases mentioned above.

That's great news. With wording like 'suspended' I was worried that it was shelved to never be returned to. Thanks, I'll continue with my ft-02 and hope 2021 goes by as quickly as 2020 and everything in the world starts to go back to a bit of normalcy

Any new estimate on Alta F1 release date? Month or even quarter?? Thank you

Any truth to the rumours you're working on a case with Gamers Nexus?
If true that is a match made in heaven, if not how did you manage to miss out on that opportunity?

I saw the video where GN said that they might be working on a case, but I never would have dreamed it was with silverstone. If that is true now, I will be waiting for sure!!

There is no truth to that rumor, other than that, no comment!

Dear Tony, I'm so happy I found you here and that you reply to peoples comments!

I have been looking to replace my case and found out about your FT02 and FT05, and coincidentally about the upcoming ALTA F1. The FT02 seems to be a great case with lots of space for 3.5" drives, this is something I need as I'm building a workstation/NAS, but unfortunately I can't find it for purchase where I live.

Than there is the FT05, which is very nice in it's size, but unfortunately only supports 2*3.5" drives.

And now there is the ALTA F1 coming. I wonder if you could have an version of it, or some add-on kit to mount 8 3.5" drives right on top of the bottom fans. My idea is to have 2 180mm air penetrator fans at the bottom and have the hard drives mounted right on top of them, with the cable connections facing the motherboard back plate side. Something like that cage from the TJ04 case. The front of the hard drives would be facing the window panel (or metal depending on the case model) and the connectors on the back near the motherboard.

What you think of this idea? I did this mockup with the info that you have 3 140mm fans at the bottom. Each 140mm roughly translates to 5 3.5" drives. They can be spaced very well to allow great airflow still if the cage is made with space between the drives.

I care a lot about silence build, so even better if it gets released without RGBs and with metal panels with sound dampening materials, specially if this lowers the price :)

Unfortunately the majority of enthusiasts tower users have much lower demand for 3.5" drive bays now as SSDs in general has become the de facto storage choice, this along with advances in higher capacity 3.5" drives. We do keep a few older models such as FT04, MM01, and TJ11 around for customers that still need larger number of 3.5" drives.

Your suggestion for fitting 3.5" drive on the bottom of ALTA F1 would result in graphics card clearance of less than 225mm. The 3.5 drives themselves will also overhang the ATX (243mm) and SSI-CEB (266mm) motherboard that this case was designed to fit. So realistically you may have to sacrifice up to three drives to fit a modern high-end graphics card and potentially more for motherboard clearance or connection. So in the end, there is going to be quite a number of compromises that need to be made to convert ALTA F1 for storage/NAS duty. Unless there is an overwhelming demand for an enthusiasts case with this configuration, I don't think we will do it.

Tempered glass manufacturing cost for PC cases has come down a lot so it is actually cheaper than to have steel panel with sound dampening material!

Idk, I think there is a market for it. I'm here for example. With all respect, Fractal makes the Define 7, and the Define 7 XL, they support 14 and 18 3.5 drives respectively. I'm holding on buying the Define 7 in hopes I can get a 90 degree motherboard orientation like those FT02, FT05, and ALTA F1, but with support for at least 8 3.5" drives. I would have bought it the FT02 if would be available here in Latvia, but can't find anywhere. I found it on Amazon, but shipping alone is 85 euros, on top of 260 euros for the case. Plus, that case is a bit too big, I think 8 drives could fit in something in the style of the ALTA F1, or the FT05 if they would be taller cases, deeper.

But anyways, just a suggestion for the future than. For now I will most likely go with the Define 7 and try to modify it to be at 90 degrees. And good luck with the launch of the ALTA F1. I saw on a chinese website some people already got it and they are loving it! Great job!

BTW, I tried to find the TJ11, but also can't find it. The cheapest I found was on ebay for nice 600 euros :D

Tony Ou

ALTA F1 already available in china.

Should I import it if it's not yet available overseas?
Shipping will be very expensive if you can get it. For North American users, also expect 25% tariff to add to the cost. We are still working on bringing ALTA F1 to rest of the world but prices will be much higher than initially anticipated unfortunately.

Tony, what about the Japanese release? Has the price changed for it as well?

European release? I'm thinking if to wait for alta f1 or get now the ft05

I'm also waiting for EU release. Here in Poland You need to be rich man to modernise PC, but as for the case i'm really tired of "all in plastic" ones. I made everything that human can do about my current case (Cosmoc C700P Black Custom), but plastic parts on top (its chimney layout) shoot so loud and so often, even 50minutes or hour after pc shut down (i allways open my window, even now on winter, so it could cool itself before shut down) that its impossible to sleep in same room. Same with gaming, when its getting warmer. Never ever plastic cases.

I was also thinking about FT05, but lack of top fans is eliminating it from my list.
F1 with all aluminium will also shoot on temperature changes, but it will stop doing this much faster, as alluminium body will share temperature on whole body part. I also got new modification of this case waiting on paper in my drawer - top opening on side with fans mounted to it - easier access to motherboard I/O. Matt finish on window panel from exterior - 2 big stripes covering PSU shroud and top part where all cables are connected - its gonna be easier to handle without fingerprints.

Tony, we are waiting (un)patiently, i'm gonna accept case in whatever state it is, it just need to be complete and in new condition, I'll make total miracle from it.

Hi,

Please send me PM or anything if you will have idea about importing Alta to Poland. I would be interested in black one.
Maybe there's more potential importers from Poland on this board and starting appropriate thread would be. Albeit I'm worried that we got have of the highest import taxes in EU, so maybe it would be cheaper to bulk import it to Germany first and later transfer it somehow without all this import/VAT crap here ;-)

About price on jd.com it's 1700CNY ~ 700PLN, so it doesn't look quiet bad (but I don't know shipping cost. At least we don't have f*** tariffs like USA [or maybe we have already in solidarity ;-])

Does anybody know if jd.com ships to EU, or know other reseller that does?

Tony Ou Why not put this case on Aliexpress and don't care about import prices at all? (leave it for customers). Or maybe you got some agreements with EU reseller's chains and you cannot sell it directly worldwide trough website?

Exacly - Aliexpress would be best place to put that in. I didnt saw any country available for shipping except China. Putting that on Aliexpress would be fantastic, specially that they started cooperation with our couriers in InPost.

If there will be some available on Ali, You can write about it here, we can order more and pay shipping once, then resend it between us.

Hi, Tony Ou
I imported Alta F1 from China.
However, two AP183 cannot be installed on the bottom.
(only one AP183 can installed)
The top plate and the bottom plate were the same.

My Alta F1 doesn't have the same bottom plate as this video.
Is it defective?

Can you send some photos? How did you tried to mount these fans (i have that in plans also)? If you mounh them under the frame it should fit, but there will be only small air gap. If you mount it above frame (stell frame of case, with screw holes) i think there may be problem with PSU shroud not letting you mount AP183.

Yellow is the screw where the fan is now installed.
Probably Red is a screw hole for 18cm fan, but it doesn't fit.

If it is cheaper to make the Tempered glass, then why do the variation of the cases with a steel side panel sell for less than the glass side panel cases? Does it all have to do with the shipping cost because the glass weighs more?

I used a cable tie.
I'm worried about the strength.
Please get in touch with our support ([email protected]) with photos of your ALTA F1 and AP183 fans, they'll be able to send you a set of screws to attach the fans properly to the case.

If the case was originally tooled for steel side panel, then it would still be cheaper that way than having tempered glass. For the ALTA F1, I was referring to steel side panel with asphalt sound dampening layer applied that is more expensive than just tempered glass.

thanks your support. but, to replace the fan screws in this case, I have to remove the motherboard.
It's a pain to remove the motherboard. No problem so far, so I'll leave it as is.
By the way, were the screws for the 18cm fan enclosed as an accessory?

No, they weren't included as the three 140mm fans we included perform better than two 180mm fans in this case for nearly all test configurations we had. So we didn't anticipate people were wanting to replace the fans in the ALTA F1 for performance reasons. We may add the screws in later productions though as we can now see people may want to replace with 180mm fans regardless. There are users in China doing the same!

Thank you for that link, it has some of the best failed translations I've read in a while! It's great! :D
Second, there are three 14 armor-piercing ammunition fans at the bottom, and it is recommended to directly replace them with two 18 armor-piercing ammunition.

That translation of our "Air Penetrator" fan is actually very accurate. For the Chinese market, we really do call them "armor-piercing bullet (or ammunition)" fans!

Yeah, armor piercing is well funny translation, in polish its "pocisk przeciwpancerny" (tank AP round) :) . I see this screw holes are for those longer screws, holes have thread for such screws. I do have one concern - user cant mount 180 fans above rails? PSU shroud seems to block it? Is there any plan to change psu shroud with wider hole for fans?

If use decide tu put fans under rails, is there possibility to remove bottom part of case (to screw the screws)?

There is no plan to change ALTA F1 at this time. But yes, you can remove the bottom aluminum panel via screws.

I hope you guys can pull through with that new Raven case even if it will be probably impossible for me to find parts to fill it.

Wow! How much different is the performance between 14 fan and 18 fan?
Could you give us any more details on how you imported it? What country you're in? I looked at chinese re-shipping services to Europe and they quoted me twice the price of the case itself!
i live in japan and used an import agency.
it costs about 400$

Wow! How much different is the performance between 14 fan and 18 fan?

CPU on air was similar but GPU (non-blower) was up to 5 degrees better with 140mm fans. Basically it was the difference between losing and beating the FT05 (which was a top-notch performer) in cooling performance.

Thats impressive. I just got XFX Radeon 6800 XT merc, which weight more than 2kg, and is 34cm long, i think fan rail can be used as handler for this card (off course i need to put something 6mm wide here). Everything will fit together very nicely, but there arent cases yet ;)

My build is complete except for the Alta F1. My parts are housed in my old Enthoo Primo for the time being. Checking multiple times a week for an announcement on the Alta. I can't wait :)

I looked at it few weeks ago and while too long for mine FT02 I wondered how it will perform in rotated case(it's heavy on heatpipes)
