2021 should have some more inventory or so saith the best guesses with ZERO evidence to support such claims. More hope than anything.
Such sources as earnings reports and shareholder accountability calls. The gamers aren't the only ones frothing at the mouth, so are the shareholders who have no cards to sell with demands in the millions.

Not sure when they put up stock on AMD's site - but I wouldn't disregard that - got stock at a time I wasn't expecting (early afternoon)?

There have been a scattered drop or three on amd's website. The problem with it is, as is typical these days, you have to be in the right place at the right time. If you're at work or away from the computer, the drop hits and is gone in minutes or less. I've been checking in the morning and evening when I'm not working and have never seen it go in stock on their website.

All I have seen is a hit on amazon for the gigabyte reference card and the bot was able to get an order in. Which then promptly had shipping date of dec 16 disappear to be replaced with 'not yet shipped' and 'we'll email you when we have an estimated delivery date'.

Fact of the matter is these are just as hard if not harder to get than the 3080 was in the first few weeks after it's launch. The situation with that one hasn't improved (much) but there are more frequent drops at various vendors for it, so the chances of getting one is a little better now than it was 2 months ago.

6900xt will be just as bad on dec 8th. Only a very lucky few will be able to get one. 99.5% of us will not be able.

I absolutely agree with you

I've given up. When EVGA emails me with the purchase window is when I will buy.
But by then they would have to move it over to a Ti model. I don't think they are out of September 17th yet. I'm October 7th.

It does feel like a lot of wasted effort F5'ing websites all day and night.

I have a buddy who went to MicroCenter at 2:15 AM one morning last week. He was the first in line and he got the *only* RX 6800 XT they received that day *and* a Ryzen 9 5900X. I hate him. ;)

I just started a new business, had some funding set aside for a new GPU, but I shifted the funds to other equipment.
I just not life or death to me so I can wait. 2:15am makes it more serious then it needs to be. Once you run a few benchmarks and turn up the settings, the awesome feeling wears off after a week.

Turning down the setting gives you a new GPU. Or buy a faster used one and turn down the visuals to match your old GPU.
At some point we'll experience 2077 in all it's glory, but we will have fun on current hardware as well.

For me, I can live with using my 1080ti for gaming for another 3 months if I have to, but damn, I would really, really, like to get folding@home running on a new 6800XT or 30X0 and open pandemics running on a 5950x.

sure, my individual contribution even with the new hardware will be insignificant, but the number of DCers that would love to use the hardware for research isn’t so insignificant.

^^ This. Was really looking forward to a single card solution to replace my 1080ti's as I skipped last generation.

But at the current rate the new offerings have been available from team green and red... I can wait till next year. No way I'm paying scalper $$$.

Reference ASUS and MSI 6800 XT restocked on Newegg just now. Sold out in 0.3 seconds.

I heard that. One guy on nowinstock used paypal and was going through checkout but still was unable to get one. 13 seconds total time from start to failure. That is how fast they are going out of stock. Even if it's not bots, there are probably that many people at a keyboard trying for these that in 13 seconds all 25 units they got in stock were gone literally that fast.

IKR - so... that's 25 cards for the entire US market, given that Newegg has a virtual monopoly on PC component sales in the US. Makes sense.

*no knock against Newegg - they're simply the last ones standing after most others tanked.

Got a Sapphire Nitro+ 6800 XT in my cart at Newegg earlier. That’s as far as I was able to get.

The buttons on the 6800XT pages on Best Buy's site now say "Sold Out" instead of "Coming Soon". Did some drop there earlier?

Yes this morning. They lasted all but a few seconds.
Here's the question on the BB site: if you are able to hit the button, but don't get the two-part confirmation email with the code right away... do you refresh and hope - or wait and hope?

Hmm not sure. I’ve always selected the text message option and get a code usually within 5 seconds.

So where should we be looking nowadays to try and get a 6800xt?
hard to get right now. will be better in January and shit when more inventory comes in right now. AMD had it monday and best buy had it today, just hard to buy the shit with bots attacking them. But Scalpers should stop buying after holidays because they wont want inventory sitting there and on top get hit with more inventory being available.

They are certainly starting to flow though. I have gotten two notifications last 3 days, but they go quick. Waiting for 6900xt.

i tried grabbing a 3060ti. If it wasn't for the damn system kept saying hey date changed, hey this store is not available for pick up any more lol I would have gotten on. I did verification by email and got it instantly so that was went as planned lol.

CDW put a charge in against the Asus RX 6800 XT on my card and I'll be damned if I can figure out how to view the actual order status outside of the "quick status" in the account page. Only says item not yet shipped.

Well just got around to installing this 6800 on the wife's computer. Definite jump in performance. Now I just need my new 5950x cpu and I can give the 3950x to my wife. Then she should be set for awhile. I am going to shoot for the 6900xt for my setup.
You know the rules, mention the wife, give the pics :snaphappy:

It shows up eventually but good luck with CDW, they never got any inventory of 3080 and it'll be the same for 6800 XT.

Mine is the same. Did you get an email from a person instead of a no-reply email? Mine came from a Chris something. I sent him an email saying hey I placed an order but just noticed it's $108 over MSRP, do you do price matches? I sent it Monday morning and haven't received any response :ROFLMAO:

I didn't get any email, I noticed there was a charge on my CC.

If product isn't at my doorstep in a week I'll be cancelling and watching for inventory at other vendors.

I'll be happy if I get a 6800XT by March. I'm certainly not surprised by the childish responses of the masses of spoiled rotten adolescents these days. The current generation just needs to grow the fuck up and get over themselves. I laugh at these fools daily and thank my father for teaching me to exercise patience when thing don't go my way.
I agree with you 100% most probably dont have a monitor that would strech these cards.

One day i will post success in this thread...
I have a feeling, January will yield happy faces for this thread. Just a hunch. Zero evidence to make such a claim, but I have a gut feeling. People will be recovering from spending lifetimes of money over Christmas and scalpers cant sit on returnable inventory for ever. They have to budge or they are going to have box fulls of $800 unsold GPUs. So the market will have to adjust at some point yielding availability.

I have gotten so many notifications on 6800 series but they are always out by the time I click. I think bots are totally active these days plus holiday season. So things will calm down in january. But from now I don't expect to get new tech until 3 months later. Its just a sad reality until companies step up to deter bots or make heavy bot activity buying multiple items illegal for resale. That is the only way about it. I see loads of consoles purchased by bots lol. Its just crazy. i already got a ps5 luckily at walmart, wife got through the check out lol. But man I have been successful 0 times out of like 10 tries. I wanted to buy one as gift but so many times I have tried instantly clicking and never get it.

Even sony's queue system is bullshit. Whey the fuck do they do it 3 times a week is beyond me. Why not load up on stock at one time so people that have waited actually have a better shot at getting one before going in to a randomized queue over and over lol.

I think they are out of stock before it hits the email api ... luckily the market of people buying $1k+ gpus has to hit saturation at some point.....

That is when you will see inventory return to normal. Once scalping becomes a fruitless path to money.

Its funny u say this but there a LOT of countries that normall have to pay almost double retail in general for amy gpu so the high prices might not actually ever stop being sellable on a global level.
