Razer Viper Ultimate

I'm returning my wired Viper for this one. I'll post pics/comments when I receive it.

I've got one after returning the wired version. I think it's a nice upgrade from my GPW.

I'm loving the Ultralight 2 that I've been using but I'm still intrigued by both the G Pro Wireless and Viper Ultimate in terms of cutting the cord completely. I might go with the G Pro Wireless when it has a reasonable sale here in Canada, just because I've already tried the regular Viper and I know I like it. Just want to see how the GPW is first beforehand.

same here. i'm on a g pro wireless, ordered a wired viper but had not even opened its box when the ultimate was released. so i'll sell the wired viper although the ultimate is a good bit more expensive. after a year with a g305 and a gpwl, i just don't feel like going back to wires, even paracord.

After over a week with my Viper Ultimate, I can say it's easily the best mouse I've used in well over 10 years. I applied a couple of thin strips of rubberized tape to aid my grip because the matte plastic can be a bit slippery.

I do, however, have serious doubts about the claimed 70 hours of battery life. I use it 10 - 12 hours per day. By the time I finish at my computer, the mouse is down to about 60% charge remaining. I always place it on the charger stand overnight and it's back to 100% in less than 45 minutes.

All in all, the Viper Ultimate is an outstanding mouse. At $150, it ain't cheap, but it's well worth the price if you're in the market for a wireless mouse. You can get the wired version for about $80.

Supposedly, per the video that Comixbooks posted, the Viper Ultimate doesn't require that crappy Synapse software. Is that right? You can just plug the mouse in and use it without bloatware running all the time? That was the primary reason that I was probably going to skip this one despite it seeming awesome.

Correctomondo!!

Can you set the settings and then not leave the software running 24/7? Has Razer's quality control improved recently? Last keyboard I had died in around 3 months. Do their mice last longer than that? Would consider getting this but might opt for the wired version. Currently using a Logitech Pro wired. Overall, similar feel to those right? Not a fan of rubberized sides because they're dusk and dirt magnets and hard to wipe down. Is that a concern for this or not really?
