Playable UE4 DXR Ray Tracing Tech Demo for you happy RTX owners!

WOW.
Remember guys a VERY short time ago Real Time RT on a graphics card was a pipe dream. A technological nut that seems couldn't be cracked because of the huge amount of processing power it required.
An now it is within the grasp of the avid gamer. (with a fat wallet).
For computer junkies these are amazing days.

And it will be within reach for everyone in the next 4-6 years. Exciting times.

But...But We CAN'T use it because Evil Nvidia wants us To! (Sarcasm)

And we all know from reading on [H] is that AMD is all that's Righteous and Beneficial and Good for Everyone and that Nvidia is the Spawn of Satan and comes from the bowels of Hell!

I'm So Confused.....

Team RED to the rescue? :D

Apparently the guy did it for shits n giggles. Also one guy said it ran well on his Vega but the post wasn’t convincing...

“Seems to run really smooth on i5 6500 and Vega 56 8GB in 1080p (is there a way to turn on FPS in-game?).
But does it actually do ray-tracing on the Vega? The puddle reflections and shadows seem to be correct..“

He was also a brand new member and that’s the only post made. And directly below another post saying 12fps on a 1080ti.

So if it ran on Vega at all I’m guessing it ran without DXR.

Oh it runs just fine on Vega, just no ray tracing. I tried it out on my Vega 64. I Think for the low I was getting around 40 fps.

There is no guessing about it, since there are no DXR drivers for AMD cards.

In another post I saw someone getting high frame rates with a GTX 1060, because he hadn't updated Windows and Drivers, once he did that(which enabled DXR), he got ~6 fps IIRC.

Hey, just adding a point of clarity, as some people are under the impression that DXR current works with AMD cards, when it doesn't because AMD hasn't provided any drivers with DXR support.
