Then you can play at 2560x1440 and have black bars on left and right. Same as a 27” 1440pVery, very tempting but I still play games that don’t have proper ultrawide support.

That doesn’t make a lot of sense to meGod I wish this wasn't ultrawide. I would buy it all day long.
Just can't do ultrawide, I tried and hated it. Even for games. It's very very narrow from top to bottom reminiscent of a tiny 17" monitor.
Are there any 32" quality 16:9 IPS 100hz to 144hz monitors on the market that I'm missing? Must be non-Koren as I've had several of those die on me over the year.
It is not a true 120hz screen. It is overclocked 100hz. Lot of people complain they can't get 120 working. Still a great monitor.Yup great monitor! Came from a 40" 4k screen to this!
True 120hz monitor unlike the others that claim 100hz.
Liked the 4k but once I tried my 9 year olds 27" 165hz 1440 gsync screen after a year after giving it to him i was like.. yeah. High frame rate is a must.
That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me
Did you try a 34”?
It is exactly reminiscent of a 27” 1440p panel with extra width.
My last three monitors:
I had a 30” 16:10 Dell 3014, then a 32” 16x9 HP Omen, then this 21x9 Alienware. I found them all shades of similar for screen size, and experience engagement. This, though, was clearly the best monitor of the three for gaming. I also tried a 37” 16x9 but found it subjectively too big. Now I would love to have a 38” ultrawide when a model is finally released with G-sync because that is the same physical size as my Dell 30” 16:10 Dell 3014 with ultrawide extra width—- that 30” 16x10 in my subjective opinion was the perfect/optimal vertical height. That said I do really like my Alienware. It’s the best monitor I’ve personally owned, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it.
That's not a problem with ultra wide monitors that can't be fixed. There's a fair number of games, especially more competitive ones, that limit fields of view so that people with ultrawide screens don't have doo much of an advantage. This leads to view being physically wider but the horizontal FOV still being the same, and the vertical FOV being smaller. It kinda sucks, since you have to move your eyes or even head to look at the sides with no real benefit, and it's like wearing blinders looking up and down, like looking through a narrow visor. This is particularly rough in FPS's or other games where you need to look out for death from above...
Nice, I found a Samsung 55" That does 120hz at 1440p. Gonna trying and pick that up this week possibly.
Sure, and btw, thanks to the original poster for finding this deal. It made me look really really hard and was able to find this TV.
The point of all of this being able to game on large displays.
Here are all the resources I used to determine this will be my next buy, maybe at the end of this week.

At the top of that list you will notice several Samsung displays. All of these have excellent latency and FreeSync. However, this works on nVidia as well as 120hz @ 1080p and 1440p.
Here is the video of the guy that actually tested it out. I spoke with him yesterday and today and he says it works incredibly well.
Here is that video.
BTW it should be noted that the 49" DOES NOT HAVE the 120hz panel.
I will be buying the 55" Samsung Q6FN 4K HDR TV. It's abour $995 or so.
Nice, is it me or there isn't seem to be any screen tearing issues?

For a 3440x1440 monitor you'd pick 2560x1440 as your game resolution. If it still fills up the monitor and just squishes/stretches everything, then choose the appropriate scaling selection in the AMD or Nvidia control panel. When done, you should just have black bars on left and right vs. a undesired stretching or squishing of the image.
Your idea of "fixed" means that you're giving up on a ton of real estate - for many that is an undesired stretching/squishing. My point is if you're giving up on that for things you do all the time (ie, you've got black bars for both gaming and watching movies) it doesn't make sense for you to get that form factor. This is one of the reasons I don't have an ultrawide, and won't get it anytime soon. You're welcome to disagree with that reasoning, of course, but personal experience with (and desires for) formats vary, so not everyone will agree with you. That's why multiple screen sizes continue to exist, even within a given price range...
A 34” ultrawide at 2560x1440 is the exact same size as a 27” 16x9 2560x1440 screen. What i don’t understand is when people say they can’t enjoy ultrawide and then own or buy a 27” 16x9 screen. The 34” is the same thing when something doesn’t support it, and a lot nicer on the majority of things that do.
BTW, there’s no black bars on the majority of movies. The black bars on top and bottom of a movie on a traditional screen are gone with an ultrawide on a scope screen movie (probably 80% of modern movie content (excluding nature documentaries and Pixar films)

The self-importance is strong with this one...
Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's not a problem for other people - especially when you're shelling out $800+ dollars for it. Most movies (especially streamed, which is how most of us get our movies and other content) is 16:9, not 21:9. Maybe that will change, but for now, msot of us aren't cool with paying $1k (which is what this typically goes for) or even $800 to have this kind of experience. If you look at the reviews they've pulled in, the most popular negative review *starts* with the game issue... so... I'm not alone in my thinking and feelings about this, regardless of whether or not you feel that way.
This is $769.99 on Newegg thru eBay right now.....
No, sadly it is 27" pretty much all you can get for that for the moment. Even then, it can be a crapshoot with panel quality. There are some in the pipeline so maybe we'll see some in the next year.
Nvidia branded 43" BFGD displays are supposed to come out later this year, but then again their 65" displays were supposed to come out in 2018. If they do ever come out I would bet they'll easily be in the >$3k range.I wouldn't hold out for anything changing in the next year. The top notch panels from asus and acer (pg279q and xb271hu) are 165hz 1440p 27" and pretty much haven't changed much in the past few years. I've loved mine and think it's one of the best upgrades I made in a long time. The only thing you can really be watching out for is the 4K variants of those monitors and really the price is what's tough to justify.

Lower your overclock and see if it does it at 100hz.Amazon has it for $799, had Microcenter price match.
I'm 90% happy with it, 10% is that gsync sometimes faulters a bit. I have it overclocked but still in some cases you see screen tearing. I used the gsync pendulum program and it has a bar that slides accross the screen. When fort it loads IP for a second it tears and then it's smooth. Not sure what's up. Think I can live with it. Maybe just a setting. Will call Dell this weekend on it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Unfortunately it was doing it at it's stock 100hz, I then bumped it up to 120hz to see if it helped. It did help some, but the problem is still there. I think it's something I can weed out.Lower your overclock and see if it does it at 100hz.
If your frame rate is at or higher then your screen hz then that's your problem. You dont want to be at 120 fps at 120hz. It will turn off g-sync. You want to somehow cap the frame rate at 2-3 frames lower. So 117-118 fps cap at 120hz.
