HSPC Tech Station Alternative?

Way back, one of my favorite ways to assemble a rig was on my HSPC Top Deck Tech Station. It made it easy to swap parts and tweak till my heart was content, but since migrating to more of a server type setup and with larger mobo's, I ended up selling my tech station a while ago. Is there a current offering out there that's better suited for EATX/EEB sized boards? I've even debated on a home built setup with a frame like many miners use but i'm not sure if I want to bother. I'm all about convenience anymore and if there was a good offering that could be bought i'd be interested.

This is one of my favorite mobo trays for building custom tech stations, but is no longer available at Performance PCs (O/O/S), where I've previously bought it from, however, you might get lucky and find one elsewhere (or perhaps open up a WTB thread). On top of a simple frame (like the miners') and you're good to go.

A simple alternative to a manufactured mobo tray is an aluminum cookie sheet (turned upside down) such as the ones linked below. I bought a few a while back at Sams Club that were similar. Just drill holes for the standoffs and if you want to take it further, drill holes for cables and cut out behind the socket area for ease in swapping CPU coolers. As you can see, they aren't too expensive so if you trash one while modding it, you aren't out big bucks.

and another one

Edit:
Not sure, but I believe that these might be the ones that I got from Sams:

There are still several store-bought and ready to go options available, some of which are linked in this thread:

Hope some of this helps and good luck with your search.

This tray is still readily available on Ebay at the moment, for about 85-90$ US

fwiw my HAF-XB is used this way. Since you can pull off top and both sides.. it's basically a shell and everything is very accessible.

but I don’t see eatx support

hmm.. I don't have eatx but it appears to have room. edit: looks to be a good to go.

The case easily accommodates the larger size of an E-ATX board, as illustrated with the GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7. The board easily fits on the removable motherboard tray with some room to spare along all sides of the tray. Because of the room provided in the front of the case, you should have no issues with a front mounted radiator using a larger board. The better news is that a standard-sized ATX form factor board would take up even less room.

Yeah, I included this one in the list that I made which was linked in my first post. Another plus is that it is reasonable priced option compared to some of the alternatives (even goes on sale every now and then).

Edit:
BTW, another mobo tray alternative, which could be easily mounted on a miners-type frame, is the Mountain Mod mobo tray for the SR-2.

I got a rise case from eBay, fits a eatx but I had to remove the drive bays for it. Sucks since I prefer an open case. I can’t seem to find that lian li fs anywhere.

I got a rise mid tower but hate it. Still haven’t pulled the trigger on a tech bench just yet, got a lot of work stuff going on and haven’t had the time I’ve wanted to even start my build.
