Artic coolers come with 10 yr warranty

In fairness to AC, there hasn't been as much socket change as there had been in the past. Pretty much every Intel mainstream socket since 2010 has had the same hole pattern and AMD's mounting was the same on just about everything from AM2 to current until AM4 was released so you could theoretically move your HSF from computer to computer over a much longer period.

Me neither other than fans going bad. Some of the AC coolers from a few years ago had non-replaceable fans (or at least difficult to replace).

That's true. I might still have an arctic freezer 7.

Warranty is just an advertising gimmick. Air coolers almost never die. Only the fans can fail, and that is usually after 5+ years. People think the length of warranty is how long product will last when in reality it is more an insurance policy that many will not used if product has served them reasonably well. I see CLC owners with 2-4 year old units dying that throw it in the trash and by new instead of RMA'ing .. that is the kind of action these long warranties are counting on. ;)

Same applied to mail in rebates. Lots people buy because after rebate price is lower, but many don't bother filling out and mailing in the rebate.

I had heatpipes in laptops go bad I'm sure this has happened in some desktop air coolers at some point

At some point heatpipes will die, but it's so many years it's not worth considering. How long do copper pipes in homes last? 50+ years, but I don't know how much longer after that.
