Anyone else going to watch it? We are an Apple house for our company phones so I will be the one upgrading/purchasing for everyone here. Not a bad deal considering I get one too.
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

So I have an iPhone 6s Plus that is still doing well, only reason I have not upgraded was due to needed a headphone jack. I know they will never bring it back, but I hope the updates on this device are enough to make me want to upgrade.
how to make display work as LTE antenna???
odd, he didnt claim apple was the inventor of wireless charging lol
iPhone X. The first phone that cops will simply hold up to your face to unlock and look into your private life. No questions asked.

Versus just putting your finger on the sensor with every other phone in existence?
Not big on context I see.Versus staying with the same technology forever and never changing anything up. It's a step in a different direction, there's always skepticism that ensues.
Guess I'm skipping the X until next year. No touchID no buy for me. I do like the move to stainless steel and the move back to glass though and all the new camera technologies.
I don't think touch ID is coming back, especially not if they keep layering on this sort of "premium" phone technology. Either way, I'm grabbing the 8 Plus, then the X when that's available.
Any reason you're in need of touch ID specifically?
Just not big on using my face to unlock. I like using my finger to unlock the phone instantly, I dont want to have to bring my face up every time to unlock the phone because on a lot of things I dont my phone isnt in direct sight of my face.

"They added the word 'Super' and they jacked the price of the base model new iPhone X to $999... nothing else to see here, moving along..."
I wonder if there'll be a way to enable a passcode or something like that, to make it so you're not locked into using the face ID.

They might still add the sensor under the glass next generation. We'll see.

I don't use my fingerprint (fingerprints are just user names...not passwords) but if I did I certainly wouldn't be using my typical index finger. My G6 locks down after 5 fails. So I figure I would have pretty good odds in that case.
Not to mention all the litigation out there right now around fingerprints. Right now there are a few cases going where people are arguing that only the person knows which finger was used and that should be protected just like a password as it could self incriminate. Time will tell how that's handled but at least you can argue that.
You can't argue jack with Face ID. They simply hold the phone up and poof...they're in. Uncle Sam is salivating over this right now because of all the bad guys they can kill and then still get into the device as long as they don't shoot the face.
Has nothing to do with changing things up. Has everything to do with what I consider less secure. Did Apple improve on Face Unlock? Absolutely and they did a very nice job but Face unlock also isn't anything new. It's only been around on Android since Android 4.0. So this definitely isn't "futuristic" as Phil liked to say about the X.
I also fail to see how this is an improvement on the UX. It's more steps now to unlock than just touching the Home button. I mean this shit would drive my wife nuts. She'll be upgrading to the 8 and ignoring the X.
That is what they should have done. That would have been incredibly nice. At this point though I'd imagine Touch ID is on the way out.
One would hope but man that's a huge UX change in the wrong direction versus just a finger unlock that so many use right now.
Huh, that sounds familiar. Super amoled. Where have I heard that from? lol.
I misinterpreted what you were trying to say, I didn't read the word "cops" at first. I don't expect any other way to unlock unless you're using face ID, but there's really no other option unless there's some sort of integration there to recognize a finger (which I'm thinking there isn't). Either way, there's always the 8/8 Plus that doesn't change any of the functionality.
Yes, but to me the iPhone 8 doesnt feel that big of an upgrade and my 7+ 256GB is doing great so I can wait. I usually get the iphones if I feel the upgrade is big enough. Never not bought one because a lack of features.
