So, DSR is kinda fun. It's a very very subtle effect when you render in 1440 on a 1080 monitor, but it's a little nicety I like to enable on older titles where I'm already 144fps locked on ultra settings.

Thing is, it works flawlessly for the first game I run after a fresh boot. Every subsequent run though, awful choppy constant micro stutter and screen tearing. Doesn't seem to matter which titles are first and subsequent, the pattern remains constant.

I don't even know where to look. It's not hugely important, of course, but it's baffling.

Make sure you have G-sync enabled and V-sync globally disabled or set to Fast, with Preferred refresh rate set globally to Highest available. I know with Prey (2017) I usually have to start the game twice for it to set the correct refresh rate and sync settings when using DSR. You can check the refresh rate with your monitor's OSD.

If you're overclocking your VRAM you can try backing that down a bit, too.

Yep, that's my use case. All Vsync is banned in my machine. =)

I'll check out what it does in game using OSD, hadn't thought to do that.
