Acer Predator XB1 27 Inch IPS 165hz @costco 599 GSYNC

Well, looks like I'm doing a new unexpected build around one of these. They have it at the Costco nearby. $555 with the membership. 5% cash back with discover. Too good to pass up.

Edit:. Well, apparently you can't use discover Card at Costco so I couldn't get the 5% cash back. The good news is that they were having system issues and couldn't create me a new membership. They just gave me a temporary one day pass and told me to come back another day. I don't want a membership anyway, so that made it even better. Saved $55 which is better than the 5%. Box is open though so it might have been taken out. With a 90 return policy, I'm not really worried.

You better go and get that membership if you want the extra warranty and amazing return policy. Plus Costco is an amazing place to buy many other things.

Is this the best g sync 144hz ip monitor on the market? Are there anymore avaliable and will other retailers match cosco prices? I don't have cosco membership, thanks!

I think it's a 90 day return policy? What's the extra warranty thru costco?

Can't wait for my stuff to get here so I can get this build going. 27" 1440p 144hz is the best spot in my opinion.

This monitor looks sexy as hell. No bezels at all basically. I love Acer's designs.

Is this sale still going on? Is it possible to shop at cosco without a membership?

You can get a one day pass at the service desk but you don't get the additonal return policy time and extra warranty.

How much does the membership cost? And is it possible to get both the membership and monitor online?
Still wondering if this is the best g sync ips panel there is?

Got my new rig up and running. Beautiful monitor. Mine seems flawless.

Glad I bought it.

As good or better than Asus in many reviews. I would highly recommend it. I was highly skeptical of these monitors despite what friends online and in real life told me ... until I bought one myself. It really is game-changing.

Dam will need to check it out then. Is 27 inch the sweet spot? I feel like running 1440p is very demanding and I only have a 970 Asus card.. would hate having to run games at 1080p..not sure how the gsync works but I think us tied to your frame rate. So if your card can't push passed a certain frame rate it makes the g sync useless? Might be wrong though advice needed!

GSync is active from 31 to 144 or 165 fps on these monitors. Above 144/165 or below 31 it does nothing. If you have games that go above 144/165, it is best to use MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner Statistics Server to limit the framerate to not go over. A 970 should be good, I am still on a 780 and looking to get a 1080 or 1080Ti at some point soon.

Hmm there is one at my Costco for $450. Not that well versed on monitors though.

The whole point of G Sync is that you don't need to match frame and refresh rate. But if you go below 30 or above 165 it won't work. 27" is the sweet spot for this res, IMO. Mine has a good bit of bleed on the lower right. Not as bad as the ASUS designo I will be sending back, but it is notable. Wonder if I should exchange it, but I would have to drive a long ways to do that.

Any idea how long this special will last?

They're clearing inventory. Won't show up on the website and you'll likely have to ask if they even have any. I bought the last one within a 3 hour drive last week.

How are you guys getting it for 450? I just went to cosco they only had 1! Grabed it as fast as I can but it was 499 not 450...one of the workers said you can check inventory of other costcos and get them to ship one locally.
Anyways is this monitor good to go out the box or it needs tweaking?

Needs tweaking; I bought 4. One is lightly blue tinted, 2 yellow tinted, and one absurdly yellow tinted.

Any good guides on tweaking
You'll need a monitor to compare it to or a colorimeter if it bothers you. I just lowered the red and green channels a bit. Using someone else's calibrated profile is a terrible idea since there is so much variability in the monitors themselves

Just an advisory, but not only is this a 'clearance' price, but there's the "Asterisk of Death" on the price placards now - that means Costco isn't ordering (or expecting to receive) any more of this product.

Can anyone explain how they got it for 450? I was just there yesterday and was charged 499...for you guys who had issues with the monitor how hard was it to return it and recieve a replacement thru costco? Never shopped here before.

For anybody interested. Georgia, Mall of Georgia location has display model remaining, and later this week might have an open box. I bought the last two today, and one had above average bleed on lower edge left of center. Also, while I was there I asked about other locations, Cumming has one (display unit) and Town Center Mall has 7 in stock including the display unit.

Sticker price, $499.97

This, can Costco replace another one via shipping? Mine works decently, I just have a bit too much bleed in the lower right and I am thinking of gambling on a replacement. Nothing close by; I'd have to drive 3 or so hours and those stores may or may not even have any left.

Dont even think about it; if the only thing bothering you is light bleed then you are lucky. You can get much worse panels in this lottery.

Returned 3; it was awkward but they took it no problem. Walk in to service desk, say you want a return - state reason; they inspect package (and inside) to make sure everything is there and undamaged.. thats it.
