Has anyone been playing this yet? Came out today. Curious what the feedback is. I thought it would have been a hot topic today.

Yup... Steam sale or bust!I'll be waiting until it is substantially cheaper.
I have it on PS4. It was pretty fun, but the rubber banding AI can be infuriating - like in past games. Some of the later races require you to race absolutely perfectly to win. I have been waiting for it to release on PC so I can trainer my way through to the end of the game and beat it, I have very little time for video games these days and can't spend all evening trying to beat one race like I could in my college days.
The problem with rubber band AI is that you don't need to be perfect. In fact, being perfect can actually hurt you. There have been times in previous NFS games where, when I won, I actually was a minute or two slower in my race than previous instances where I lost.
That review in a minute format is awesome, wow.
I'll get this when it's $20-30CAD. $90CAD is a joke for what this game looks like. Also I imagine getting the Steam controller working (for Steam link) will be a pain.
how is this game compared to NFS Rivals?
This review mimics the rest I've come across. I was really looking forward to this game too.......
When are they gunna fucking drop that rubber band shit?!
Seriously. As soon as I realise a racing game is rubber-banding, I then know that racing fast and perfectly won't be rewarded and so I'll just restart the race, sit still and count to 20 after the race starts to make the game profile me as a noob, then race and have a piss easy time as it's now really forgiving.
...But not fun.
EVERY. FUCKING. GAME.
This game is really easy, if you don't crash. There are maybe 1 or 2 races that are actually difficult due to some BS from the AI, but most of them are very doable. You don't have to "cheese" it either, I stayed in first for almost all the races the entire time and never had rubber banding issues. One of the speed trial ones (the ones where you set a fast lap in x amount of time) is BS and the one race with the mechanic chick is also pretty tough. Maybe the PC version doesn't have the rubber banding fix the console versions got though.
Also, grip is trash in this game, so never use grip tires. Either use regular ones or one of the lower tier drift tires. Having a second car tuned for drifting is hilarious, I basically get a higher score in the first 2-3 corners than the AI does in the entire race.
I'd assume they're the same. One of the speed trial ones at the very end, the first time I managed 34 seconds and placed 5th. I finally won it when I had a pretty overall terrible run where my fastest time was 42 seconds. Overall, the game's not that difficult though. But quite a few achievements didn't unlock, and I don't really feel like playing from the beginning for them.
Must be an issue on PC with the achievements, I got the platinum trophy on PS4. The only time the game gets "hard" is if you crash which is how most of the recent NFS have been.
