Anything of value in the new expansion for new low level players?

Are you at least lv28? It's super easy to hit 32 now with vendor gear and exotics from Xur. Max marks buy gear it really isnt that hard to hit 32 now.

What system are you on?

why are people so damn obnoxious when someone dislikes a game on this forum? Its in EVERY SINGLE THREAD if anyone posts ANYTHING negative about a game its seen as trolling and every single time answered with "so why are you posting here. God forbid anyone have their own damn opinion

So it's not obnoxious to hear the same opinion over and over ad nauseam? How many times do you need to say you don't care for the game before its enough? I'd say 4 times is plenty for one thread.

It depends on your level as the above poster stated but they made gearing through PvP ridiculously better. Once you hit 20 I would seriously consider just taking a few hours to do Crucible and you will find yourself with an assortment of legendary guns to mess around with. If you get the HoW expansion and you follow the introductory quest lines that lead up to Prison of Elders it will net you a 331 legendary sidearm (new secondary weapon type for HoW) and a Treasure Key . The Treasure Key can then be used to get a guaranteed Exotic item from the first Prison of Elders chest you open (*big one at the end of the dungeon). You can do the Level 28 Prison of Elders via the matchmaking to accomplish this so basically once you hit level 28 you get a guaranteed Exotic. Additonally, they made it easier to obtain Treasure Keys and for a new player they can be used often in the Level 28 PoE to get various Queen's Guns from the chest. They aren't that great for veteran player but for a new player its an easy to pick up legendary guns for minimal work.

Thanks for info. I just never got too into Destiny originally but it looks like HoW fixed a lot of gripes i had, and Ill just have to grind up my character a bit to take advantage of it, but sounds like its worth it.

The pricing leak on the new DLC had DAMN well better be a joke. it it actually releases at $40 im never playing this bullshit game or buying a single bungie game after Destiny burns

There were leaks back in January that hinted the price on the fall expansion would be higher, since it will be larger than the last two DLC packs and $30-40 was the estimate back then:

I'm not saying it's justified, but it shouldn't be a surprise. I'll probably wait until it goes on sale to grab it as I have had my Destiny fix for now.

Its absolutely not justified, they are adding as much content as other games patch in for free. Its HORRENDOUS and extremely anti-gamer the way theyve handled this game, a complete and total joke.

Anti-gamer is a bit much. They have stayed involved with the community and have brought the game to a good place based on community feedback. The content is a little lean but still provides hours of playtime to those that enjoy the game.

I've definitely spent more hours and less money on Destiny than I would have with something like WoW or FFXIV, so there's that...

If the updates/community requests continue the way they have been, I'll be glad to support their efforts in the new expansion "The Taken King".

I mean for as much hate as this game gets, there are quite a bit of folks playing it and eating it up. That says more than anything id say.

I've been playing pretty faithfully since launch. I took a break to dabble with Dragon Age:Origins for about 40 hours of game time, but came back to Destiny. I am running out of steam a bit since all the folks I played with are now off playing other things, and I get tired of using websites to LFG to get stuff done. I have only done the lvl 32 POE runs, and all three of my characters are 33.

I actually installed Witcher 3 last night after I ran a couple of Nightfalls and lvl 28 POE runs. I may take a break and play something else for a bit. I am a bit reluctant to get sucked into Witcher, as it seems like it is worth at least several hundred hours of gameplay.

I have definitely gotten my money's worth, but the lack of a raid this expansion leaves me a bit wanting. I miss the teamwork of a 6 man fireteam working to get things done. POE just isn't the same as a raid.

POE is kinda a joke to be honest.

I agree. When the game first came out, I would have likely agreed with what others have said about it... but not it's fleshed out and evolved to a really fun game IF you have friends to play with. Strikes, Prison of Elders, Raids, Wanted Bounties, Hunting Wolves, Crucible... the game has enormous replay value and Bungie is very forthcoming in their support and in listening to the community. I am excited to see how they game will evolve, and I think in 5 years it's going to be HUGE.

if nothing else it is still fun to jump into a patrol and then rape an entire area when you only have a few minutes to burn. yes the game is highly repetitive, but at least there is enough differences in class play styles and gun feel, that those actions are fun.

I will come back to the game when they implement optional matchmaking for everything. I've gone through all the content of the game with completely random people I picked up from DestinyLFG. I'm getting tired of constantly having to find people when it should be automated. If you run into a bad player then just have a vote to kick system.

Careful analysis of the Destiny The Taken King ViDoc has revealed the following:

-Base light level of 30; overall cap set at 50
-New subclass for all three classes
-New Raid, Multiplayer Maps, DLC, and patrol area (planet)
-New multiplayer mode where supers constantly recharge
-Class items will actually do something.

I see your point and am in the same boat, but a vote to kick system would get abused like crazy. Start a 3 man activity with one friend of your own and matchmake a third. Get to the end and see a friend come online, 2 ppl votekick the random and get yours to join. I could see Bungie doing it just like that then fixing it months later.

Imo this game will surely see it's prime with next years D2 release, no eariler. They need to fix the main issues with the game to get the playerbase growing or else it will just be people like us getting frustrated and slowly moving away from what could have been.

People should boycott the expansion till they throw in matchmaking. So f'ing tired of it not having it when its proven time and again you don't need 6 people working together.

Make it so that you can't invite people once in a match made game and that only the match making system would find someone to join to replace them. Then set the vote to kick feature to have a 15 minute cooldown to prevent troll kicking and you have a half-way decent match making system.

It's easily do-able, and like I said, make it optional. That way if people really are against matchmaking, they can continue finding groups the way things are currently.

Vote to kick is horrible people are already getting fucked at the chests right now.

Matchmaking for everything but raids and skolos is ok but those you NEED people you know.

Its bad enough dealing with randoms in the weekly and level 28 POE.

If your one Xbox one my tag is I Drift 2 and my son is HYPERSONIC115 he's very good and a expert at VOG.

Highly disagree with this. Played through all of Vault of Glass and Crota's End, on normal and hard, multiple times with completely random people from DestinyLFG. The majority of people I meet on DestinyLFG are the same way. Playing with only people you know is not needed.

Out of the 100+ raids, nightfalls, and weekly heroics I've done - I was only fucked over in 3 of them. Keep in mind, this was with completely random people from DestinyLFG. I'll take those odds.

Like I said, make it optional. There is no reason why you shouldn't provide this feature as an option. If you don't like it then don't use it, but I'm willing the bet that a huge chunk of the Destiny community would take advantage of a matchmaking system.

If you get familiar with matchmaking sites like Destinylfg.net (or .com) and the100.io you should always have people to play with. Also since you have to go through the trouble to party with them and/or friend them there is more of a chance you will have someone to join in the future.

I'm still not sure I would want to tackle the Vault of Glass with an in-game matchmade team. Crota would be a bit easier, and PoE would probably benefit from having optional matchmaking on more than just the level 28 difficulty.

Getting back into Destiny for the TTK and to get my last triumph (Skolas Hard Mode). Any really good PS4 players that would like to tackle this last triumph with me sometime this weekend?

I'm the same way. I'm boycotting the game until they add in matchmaking for ALL modes.

I bought the first season pass but this time around, I'm done.

Matchmaking in Destiny for all modes would be terrible. It takes like 5-10 minutes to assemble a team via Reddit or any social platform. Randoms would just sit afk at the entrance or inside or they would just die non-stop. Just like they all do in Strikes.

No Matchmaking for Raids ever. Bad idea.

then dont use it? Just cause they add it doesn't mean your forced to use it. Not having match making leads to being kicked at random times for some jackasses friend. Both systems have their ups and downs and I see no reason why we cant have both.

I do 90% of my strikes with friends but once in a while I do it with randoms, sure sometimes they afk and stuff but i just quit and re-join. Sometimes it takes me 5 minutes to get a strike with players that arn't afking but most times its first try. Compared to always taking 5-10 minutes on destiny lfg sites that sounds like a time bonus to me. Arguments against matchmaking just don't make sense cause in the end you can still just form your own group and bypass matchmaking all together

"Then don't use it" is kind of a poor argument too. Adding matchmaking to the weekly prevented people from doing it solo like they often wanted to. I'd rather they just add an option for it.

fair enough, I suppose some people want to solo it.Be nice if we were given the choice to matchmake though, mabey a toggle in the settings. I'm all for choices, I dont like lfg sites and would much rather have matchmaking but it shouldnt be forced down peoples throats. If we could just get a enable/disable matchmaking option everyone would be happy

Why would you even need an enable/disable key? Its freaking simple, handle it like every other group based game out there, you either queue for a random group, or you go in with a premade group, whats so difficult about that? There is absolutely no excuse for it at this point

All for matchmaking across modes. If you dont want to be part of that, just uncheck a box about being put in a pool for random matchmaking.

I'm way late to the party but I'm finally playing the demo on the PS4. The last time I touched this thing was the beta. I have kept tabs on the game.

How/why in the blue hell is this not on the PC, too? This would do well there. Anyways after I max out the demo I'll have a decision to make. I like it enough chances are I'm going to open my wallet unless the shocker of all shocks happen and a PC version gets announced out of nowhere. (Probably not)

? you just quoted why we would need a check box, so that people that wanted to do things solo can still do it solo. Without it if you didn't have a full fireteam when you joined then it would match you with others making it impossible to do anything by yourself. Unfortunately you cant just run in there as an option because they use the areas for quests and bounties as well.

I want to buy the Taken King pack on PS4 (which lets you start playing the base game and first two expansions immediately) and I keep checking to see if they add match making without any luck. I am a PUG scrub in a game like this and I just want an easy way in the game to find other people to play with. I would t even mid if the PUG groups got easier content with worse loot (like Warcraft). I don't see the resistance for them to add a basic multiplayer feature that is in damn near every other game. And I don't want to use external tools and sites for such a common thing, bleh :(

There's enough video's & opinions out there along with the trial/demo to see if you like the game. If you do get it you can use one of the LFG sites and usually after a week or two have enough people built up that you don't have to use LFG much after that and can play most activities with people from my friends list. I know this because I have moved from 360-XB1, now again to PS3, and on the 15th to PS4 and have had to find people often.

I don't anticipate in game matchmaking for everything soon 'cause Bungie is kind of slow like that but honestly you can play most stuff with friends built up quickly. If you want to enjoy the game, then it's an easy path to do so. Otherwise vote with your wallet!

Damn... this thing is addictive. I'm already up to level 14 and I almost feel like I'm playing Borderlands with my hand cannons alternating with scout rifles. This is a very good thing in my book. The controls are good enough that I really haven't missed KBM like I thought I would (still my preference for any shooter.)

I'm just amazed this isn't apparently headed to the PC. I think it would do very well there.

I think a while back they said that they wouldnt discount the chance of it appearing on PC.
