How many of you would actually pay a subscription fee to watch web videos on Vimeo?

Online video platform Vimeo introduced a subscription service on Tuesday that allows creators to charge on a monthly basis. Currently, video makers can sell their material a la carte or through rentals on Vimeo. "Both the supply and demand side for premium paid video is totally proven," said Kerry Trainor, chief executive of Vimeo.

Movies? Yes, if they aren't available elsewhere.

Web videos? Fuck no.

Actually some of the stuff on Vimeo is really good. Not sure if it is worth a subscription fee though. Maybe a donation button would be better.

Not a chance. It's the worst video streaming site already. Any time I'm linked there it's a toss-up on whether the video will even load.

Pretty sure Nathan Fillion has something that's on (or coming to) Vimeo's subscription service.
Although I go to youtube more, I find that Vimeo has a lot of quality content...and back when a lot of Youtube was SD, almost everything on Vimeo was HD.

I've switched a few clients from YT to Vimeo because their API (at the time) was better. YT removed the ability to force a video to a certain quality. For example, if the embed window was 600px tall, it'd load the 480p version. Sometimes you want to force the 720p version because the quality is so much better.

I would never pay a sub fee for blogs and the like.

It would need to be a lot of unique quality content on there to justify it for me.

I wouldn't say it's much worse than YouTube but in my book it's pretty much same shit when it comes to crappy video quality. Though I think buffering isn't as bad as YouTube videos. Pretty much only the most popular videos get bandwidth. As for their paid service, lol.
