Grand Theft Auto V

Holllleeee shiiiiit.... :D

1920x1200 and I need 4 gigs of VRAM to max everything out and especially extended distance scaling and stuff like this but I'm doing pretty damned good on a 780 as is.

I'd just leave the extended distance alone until the rest of your settings are locked in, that's always going to be a performance killer.

Turned a bunch of settings down, vsync off, shadow, shader, refection quality to high and post FX to high. Left textures at very high running much better pegged at 60 fps vram usage at 1800-1900. GPU usage on both cards at 50%

Okay I pre bpught the game and started it but where is my EXTRA ingame money that I am supposed to get? Its not there, anyone having this problem?

Crashed 3 times getting through the prologue.
I see a redownload in my immediate future.

Mine just CTD with a message about corrupt game files...I'm re-verifying now and it's going quickly.

This game at 4K looks freaking sweet, guys. I'm currently only using one of my 980s and it's a lot smoother than I expected. Going to install the second one and make sure SLI works.

ugh, how do I get rid of this 60fps cap? Being stuck at 60fps while using a 120hz monitor makes baby Jesus cry.

Keep the info coming boys.

I'm on the fence for this one. If it isn't a bug ridden mess I might get it sooner, otherwise I may wait a few months after a few patches.

LMFAO. The guy is using an FX-8350 with SLI GTX 980's. What a fuckin waste. Spends all that money on 980's but can't afford a decent CPU to pair them with. We've known for years how bad the FX cpu's bottleneck multiple GPU's even when overclocked when [H] did the FX-8150 review several years ago. The 8350 isn't much faster. Not only that, we are seeing some results of SLI 980's being held back by PCIe 2.0.

Take this review with a grain of salt. Add an Ivy or Haswell CPU to that combo and I bet it jumps 20-30 fps.

Is the game starting in windowed mode for anyone else? I have to start the game and then do an Alt-Enter. It's starting at 3840x2132 for some reason.

Anyone else getting serious mouse acceleration with raw input? Direct input seems to be much smoother.

Not even able to launch the game here... GTAVLauncher pops up in Task Manager, then disappears. Not related to the Windows user name issue because my username contains only normal letters - and tried creating a new test user account and same thing happens. Also tried verifying game integrity. Blargh...

Anyone running GTA V on a 7970? I have everything maxed out @ 1440p but MSAA off and FXAA on. I get mid to high 30s in frame rate. Should I be using the optimized GTA V beta drivers? or is it not much of an improvement?

Im running a 2600K @4800Mhz, 16 gigs of ram, 2 G1 980 GTXs in SLI, Rog Swift / Gsync enabled 2560X1440P, all settings maxxed ( with the exception of a goofy shadow option in Advanced tab ) 4XMSAA with TXAA and it plays like a dream. I don't have my ingame pre buy Currency im supposed to get thou. Anyone else having that problem?

Ok.

Vsync on or off? Still experimenting.

I'm blown away. I had played on the PS3 so the before/after is just unreal.

Game runs really fine framerate wise for me, but even with settings set low to only about 2.1gb of my 3gb VRAM, it stutters like hell.......... And as you can see in my sig, stuttering really shouldn't be an issue. Game is only using about 2.5gb of system ram also.

I watched Gamespot's live stream on a 760 with everything on high or normal at 1080p. Would be cool to see it with everything cranked because it didn't look particularly impressive. Kinda bummed to be sitting this out but I just don't have the video card for it right now.

switched to fullscreen mode from windowed borderless, and my card is liking it a lot better. 50+ fps now with settings maxed. something to try.

Oh wow finally finished the patch but antisocial club couldnt validate the files so now it starting to download it again from scratch wtf

Thought I'd be cool wiping a 120GB SSD for this game, but I was not. Got down to 250MB free and got a disk write error from Steam. Now trying to copy the DL to another drive in the hopes that it will resume unpacking where it left off. :(

Runs like a dream, I can't use any of the Advanced Graphics options though.
Maxed out the regular options, 60fps at 1680x1050. Perfection.

Game does not look as good as I thought it would, though.

A+ Rockstar.

P.S. RadeonPro does not work with this game, if anyone gets it working please let me know. DXTory works fine.

dammit i'm getting unexpectedly exiting error. wtf can't get it to fix. probably corrupt file.

This got my launcher to work, but now it's saying the Rockstar Update Service is down...

Using the Beta drivers, correct?

Fuck... Use your email address as your username in Windows 8.1?? Oh that has a fancy symbol and crashes the fucking game.

Yeah mine started in a windowed mode at 800x600

Thanks, I made sure that it was changed to Fullscreen in the options and it seems to have stuck. Launches at 3840x2160 now. Woot!

Also, no more crashes since I re-verified the game integrity. /crosses fingers

People were talking smack about Steam and the suckers who bought it there, but I have to say it's been a fairly seamless experience so far. I didn't have to deal with most of the BS I've seen on the last few pages, FWIW.
