managed a little bit higher...not bad for old tech

decided to use second titan.

At least yours manages to beat my physics score.......that seems respectable...and of course your titans smokes my 7970.......i feel kinda sorry for those with new gaming systems posting 9k physics scores...I actually wish games would make more use of my cpu instead of the other way around

yes after all it was a very expensive high end chip in that time.. nowadays anything above a 3930K can beat easily what a X5670 can score.. and I can't really imagine how haswell-E 8c/16t will score in this kind of test that fully use all available threads.. what i do not understand yet its how are [email protected] scoring lower than others at 4.2ghz.. and even scoring that my 3770k at the same 4.5ghz..

Yeah, I would very much like games to make more use of the CPU for sure!!

I haven't used 3dmark since they started charging for it. Can you run this benchmark with just the demo version?

I've got a pretty old system that still runs fine for me. But of course, I wouldn't mind an upgrade. I wonder what kind of score my sig rig would get on this benchmark. It seems that vast majority of here (other than the one laptop user) have scores that are at least in the 95 percentile.

Never mind me, I believe I answered my own question.

Downloaded the demo, ran the Skydiver benchmark, and subsequently scored a pitiful score of 5950.

I suppose this will definitely encourage me to build a new system sooner than later, despite the fact that there hasn't been a game I haven't been able to play in recent memory with suitable performance.

they have always charged for it. If you want to unlock the whole program that is.

They put it on sale on steam a bit now. I think I got it for 5 or 10 bucks on sale. It's worth it to me because I build a lot of machines for customers and I can run loops and such to stress test things .

You must not play any of the same games i play. I doubt bf4/bf3 would run very well;) just from the vram limitation alone

I put in probably 100 hours into bf3 when it first came out. I had zero problems with fluid gameplay. Perhaps, I'm simply used to putting settings on normal.

More recently, I played Tomb Raider on high settings 1920 x 1080 and it ran acceptable for me. I do find that I change to that resolution from my monitor's native 2560 x 1440 to increase playability.

Nice scores.. Going to have an extra 290 this week.. Can't wait to see what 3x290's and a 3930k will kick out.. Going to try and break 100k graphics score.

at stock speed it will be more or less in the 85k-90k graphic score, they need to be at least +1200mhz core to reach the 100k graphic score...

The most I have been able to get out of the stock coolers is 1100. Won't have everything on water for probably 1-2 more months.. In the process of moving my office, back to working from home again. Have to build a new desk and move my gaming rig back into my server rack. I hate moving stuff lol.

New GPU cooler, better overclock, more points: http://www.3dmark.com/sd/2224062

Score: 23345
Graphics: 38939
Physics: 8192
Combined: 18999

That's 659 points higher than my previous run. Looks like I'd need a CPU with hyperthreading to see any massive point-gains.
Only 185 points away from overtaking the "High End Gaming PC" bar on the comparison chart. Might be able to push my Core i5 a little farther and snag that :p

Edit: So I just checked my standings. I'm actually the 4th fastest result for this CPU + GPU combination. Not bad at all :D

I just upgraded to Windows 8, and now I'm getting a few more points on Sky Diver.....
Not sure if the increase is the fresher install, or if it's just windows 8.

nice clock on the 7970....with a decent cpu you might make the top category of scores;) My card would totally lock up trying anything 1100 and above;) i need crossfire or 290x bad lol

If you like that, you would have LOVED my old MSI TF3 under water..I was 100% gaming stable @ 1.325Ghz core 1750Mhz memory..I did some 3DMark runs in the 7950/7970 owner's club thread in the AMD section if you want to see the results...

The sad thing was I gave that platinum clocking card away when I got my 290 at launch..I sold it for $235 shipped with the WB and then 2 weeks later could have been getting ~$350 thanks to the Mining craze:(:(....

Graphics score went down 2k from the last time that I tested this. I really should overclock my R9 290. So lazy. :)

What are the [H]ardocp X99 club getting in this benchmark?

Stock clocks on everything and I had a bunch of stuff running. Some extra clock speed should get that physics score up there with the rest of the six cores.

benchmark seems to be very well multi-threaded

my dual xeons come in handy finally lol

The 290x @ 1090 core and 1250 memory. Stock volts so Im sure I can push it some more:D
4690k @ 4.5 GHz

In case you guys didn't know, you can run this in diagnostic mode and it will provide a noticeable boost in your scores.
Start -> run -> msconfig -> diagnostic mode -> restart -> bench
To undo:
Start -> run -> msconfig -> normal mode -> restart

Honestly you should do this whenever you're benching or stressing anything to make sure your services and startup programs arn't dragging you down or compromising your ability to detect instability.

4-5 year old system with newish GPUs better than 99%, lol. Rekt.

My 5930k system has been delayed due to RAM, but expected to be running by Sept 27th now. So I'll post stock and overclocked scores then. Seems like my two 770's hold their own pretty well.

I swapped my regular overclocked 660ti to a cuda work machine, im using actually a R9 280X at stock. i'll be how much juice can i extract from this card in my machine.. =).

Many of you clearly have more cash then I :)

For a single gtx 680 I am happy.

I get an extra paycheck and two bonuses in november - I hope to pick up a gtx 880 then.

I have not read every post -- Is there a prize for the best and lowest scores?

went back to my "old" GTX 470, light OC on the video card and very light OC on the CPU, setfsb would let me bring the FSB to 136 max lol

?? Never ever felt the need to do that. Maybe if I was in some professional benchmark competition where there was money on the line... but come on - these should be run with your every day settings ;)
