New Driveclub gameplay

The driving sounds too arcadey, for me. I'll try the free version for PSN+ users when it comes out, though, and form a final opinion on it at that point. But I have never been too enthusiastic about it.

It looks very pretty but I hope its more than that after all the delays we were supposed to get this free at launch.

looks very good... one of the first game i consider buying a ps4 for

Looks great I'm going to d/l the free version when it comes out. Does anyone have any daytime "sunny" gameplay footage? All I've seen is dusk time or night time like a gears of war racing game :D.

Impressed and it looks like you're going fast unlike Forza where it looks like you're moving at 55MPH while the speedometer is showing much higher.

Yea I think there was some turmoil there earlier this year with the producer too. It looks good but for a racer it's going to have to be different somehow in order for me to purchase it. I'm not a huge fan of the genre.

That looks really good but like others have said I'll try the free version first and see if I can even get into it. Racing in general just doesn't do it for me

Yeah, I don't have Forza but have seen it live and thought it was as last-gen as it could get.

I can't wait to see this in person....

Graphics look fantastic but I agree that the gameplay is clearly way too arcade-ey.

The game is visually stunning, I will definitely try out the PS+ free version. I'm not a huge fan of closed circuit racers as its too repetitive for my taste. Last racer that I thoroughly enjoyed was Forza Horizon (and the second one is tempting, wish I had an Xbox One for it).

You know that there is going to be a Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2, right? Just checking because you didn't specify that you didn't have any Xbox console ;).

Sadly I sold my Xbox 360 console shortly after I completed my backlog for it about a year ago. :(

Wow, practically looks like a real video...very cool.

Not gonna buy a PS4 for it, though. :p

if this game gets good review and confirmed with fellow [H] gamers, I might get a wheel controller that I could also use it for PC. Anyone know any good wheel peripheral with haptic features of course.

I only know of two racing wheels officially confirmed to work with the PS4 and that's the Thrustmaster T80, and Hori Racing Wheel 4 (not released yet). Previous racing wheels from the PS3/PC do not currently work. Driveclub will be the first game to have wheel support on the PS4. It's all up to the developer to give support for wheels. So do not go and buying anything now until we all know for sure what works.

I like the wheel layout with the PS logo and all the buttons on the T80, but no shift knob so I won't be buying it. Hopefully the G27 will be supported.

In general, if it works on PS3/PS4 it will also work on PC. The best wheel available right now is probably the Thrustmaster T500RS, which costs $600 US. Second best is going to be the Logitech G27, which costs around $200 US. The wild cards are going to be from Fanatec, but you have to buy the wheel and pedals separately. There is the CSR, which works on PC/360/PS3/PS4, and packages start around $250. Then there is the Clubsport, which works on PC/PS3/PS4, with packages starting around $800. I would personally go with something that has a belt drive, like the Thrustmaster or Fanatecs, because there is little to no notchiness when compared to a gear drive like the Logitech.

Don't know if laying down for a wheel just for Driveclub is going to be worth it, though. If you play a lot more driving games you'll definitely get your money's worth.

PS2 wheels work on PS3, so I don't see a reason why they won't on PS4. Unfortunately I don't have any driving games on PS4 currently to test my DFP and CSR on, but I would imagine the support will come down to the game and not the console. I do think I remember reading somewhere that the Driveclub devs said that the G27 will work, and by extension the Fanatec CSR (since it emulates the G27 in PS3 mode).

No. What worked on the PS3 does not work on the PS4. That's not to say they won't eventually though. It's purely up to the developer to support them. Just plain fact right now (unless something has changed, but considering no games support wheels right now, I don't think it has). Sorry.

Which is why I said this:

They are not recognized at all. It is the console. You plug them in and absolutely nothing happens. With the T80 it's at least recognized by the console.

Yea I guess if you're really race car fanatic, those wheels will probably worth it, but I'm not that hardcore when it comes to racing may it be simulation or arcade. I guess those are noteworthy wheels. I might have to wait for a used one :D

Holy crap $600 US steering wheel? That's fuckin nuts!

I have been keeping an eye on this game. I am hoping it lives up to it's billing as a SOCIAL gameplay experience, where you can start up a driving club, and have your friends join it and just cruise around together. Sounds like a lot of fun.

This game looks better every time I see it. I agree with Fail, the social aspect is what's going to set it apart from the other racers if it is going to succeed.

I have no friends so the social aspect isn't that big of a deal for me :( And not much time either, I just enjoy racing games and being able to 'drive' cars I could never afford or see in person.

The PS2/3 were famous for supporting a ton of wheels from many oem's, whereas the Xbox had very little support (Logitech didn't support Xbox) and you basically had no option but super expensive Fanatec or the crappy MS gesture wheel. Its sad to see this being repeated with the PS4.
