Titanfall - Respawn Entertainment's first game

lol, there is no anti-cheat in the game yet.

Respawn developers have taken to Twitter to play down worries about aimbotters and hackers in the PC version of the game.

As Titanfall is a Source engine-based game, these sorts of lowlifes have appeared perhaps faster than usual for a new title, but Respawn say they are on the case.

“We have anti-cheat but it is not enabled yet – it will be soon,” said Respawn’s Jon Shiring. “This is important to us.”

Shiring also explained that they were working on a VAC-style ban system, adding: “We ARE catching them. We are not yet ENFORCING it.”

It sounds like they misspoke. You can run an anticheat program and just collect logs from it, ie not boot/ban anyone and not have anything letting them know it is. Harvest a whole slew of people and then do it.

Anti-cheat on the PC is stupid anyways. Cheating and piracy have always been the selling and driving point of PC games. Attempts to stop both of them fail as well. If you don't want to deal with them, find another platform. :eek:

What is the deal with playing with friends? My friend has the game (on PC) and he has options in the main menu of the game to "invite friends". I don't have those options (on PC) and can't find how to add friends to the game. How do we play together?

add friends through Origin?
 
I did that, and he is now my friend. But in the game I never have the option to "invite friends" like he does in the menu.

PC gamings big start was free shareware games, installing your friends game to avoid paying for it, no clipping, and all sorts of other bullshit. Not much has really changed, the biggest selling point is you can get everything for free and cheat like crazy.

It's not even a bad thing. The ability to try and abuse shit is how people get interested. Those who want to pay are free to do so.

Do you run Fraps or other overlays? Turn them off. If you have overlays on, it will cancel out Origin in game. Fucking stupid. It actually makes the "invite friends" button disappear.

Alright, I'll admit the 40mm is pretty good. In modes like ctf its much nicer than railgun for,chasing,down pilots. Did defence in ctf, 22 pilot kills and 4 titans with my titan. just sat back and weeved between objects for cover picking off titans at medium ranges and pilots all match lol. But i like to snipe with the rail gun in non ctf at long Range, it is still better at range imo
 
Okay, I'll have to admit...

The game has gotten old pretty quick :eek:.

My problem is I've fallen into using one loadout for everything. There is really no incentive to use anything else. I blame Call of Duty 4 for making me want to grind experience on all weapons and equipment :p. But don't get me wrong, it is still a lot of fun to play. But I'm going to pace myself so it feels good when I do play it.

I still think I'd rather go back to playing Battlefield 4 at this point :eek:.
 
It's hard to deny Battlefield's massive amount of content in comparison to Titanfall - weapons, vehicles, mods, customizations, assignments/achievements, skills, maps, game modes, etc...

I get at least three 0% deaths per round in BF4. The game simply has too many moving parts that don't work properly that cause more frustration than fun moments.

That's why I said "situational". Take the Triple Threat, the 40mm is the superior weapon by far... unless you're playing hard point and spamming grenades into a hard point packed with enemies. In that situation the Triple Threat is the best weapon bar none. But the 40mm is still better in every other situation, easier to use, and has a higher DPS.

And that's sort of the problem with the way the game works. Once you spawn your stuck with that load out. So do you want to spawn with something that's great at everything and by far the best over all... or do you really enjoy doing one thing and want to do just that knowing you'll be outclassed in all other situations.

It's not just the main titan weapon that falls into this either. Most areas you have an option to select something one or two the choices are just flat out better in almost every situation.

It's not as much of a concern when playing with a group where you can designate two of your players as "you get to spam the hard point, you get to backup snipe, the rest of us go with the 40mm", because you can count on the teamwork and communications to make it work. But if you aren't doing that it's just better to go with the safe choice.

Wait till you get the triple shot with the 40mm, it's even nastier than you'd think.

3/21/2014 Server Changelog

Balancing adjustments and general changes
- The damage indicator from Electric Smoke is now much more noticeable
- Search Drones will now show up in Classic Modes of Angel City
- Arc grenade/mine effects no longer draw on friendly Pilots and Titans
- Lowered the point value of defensive actions in Hardpoint mode and CTF.
- Increased the score limit in Attrition
- Flag Return points reduced
- Flag Carrier killed points reduced
- Explosives detonated by Dead Man's Trigger are now slightly delayed
- Explosives detonated by Dead Man's Trigger now play a warning sound before exploding
- Slightly decreased the damage of the Smart Pistol when not locked onto a Pilot
- Slightly decreased the hip-fire accuracy of the Smart Pistol
- Certain Burn Cards could be exploited to give multiple uses
- Evac Dropships are now more responsive to Pilots entering them
- Hacking a Mega Turret will now restore it's health to full
- Cluster Missiles damage reduced against Evac Dropships

Bug Fixes
- Titan could become stuck in the position he lands in
- Auto-Titan wouldn't stand up until you embarked into it
- Several rare server issues restarting the game in to the lobby
- Pilot could end up out of bounds while rodeoing a Titan as it is destroyed
- Pilot could warp through certain locations when jumping off a Titan
- Rodeoing a Titan that has been doomed by your SMR could kill you
- Players being able to enter some geometry in Smuggler's Cove
- Titanfall will now give proper kill credit when it kills a Pilot embarking into their Titan
- Minions in Attrition now continue to spawn until the Epilogue begins
- Player couldn't hack a Mega Turret console
- Server would sometimes error when leeching a Spectre
- Hardpoints sometimes awarded defense score to players not near the Hardpoint
- Rare issue when ejecting from a Titan
- Server would sometimes error after a match while returning to the lobby
- Double XP burn card sometimes not being applied properly

How about FIX THE SHOTGUN it is too DAMN POWERFUL!!! FIX THE DAMN MULTI GPU support or Lack of support. How about the INSANE textures always using all of the video cards memory no matter how much you have.
 
Nothing wrong with the shotty either. Takes about 3 shots to kill someone (unless you headshot or are within kicking distance). Anything more will mean that the weapon is useless.
 
I was hesitant to get this game but I gave it a shot and it is pretty fun. Like others have said, it'd be great if there were unlocks in the game.

You can get around that by enabling vsync within the game, and then forcing vsync off at the driver level (ie Nvidia control panel.) It does work but I found there to be a big increase in mouse lag for some reason.
 
Finally got around to picking this up! I looooooved the beta but have been knee deep in D3 lately to play anything else. So I decided to dive in and boy, still love this game. Kind of sucks being low level now facing people with better weapons but I'll get there.
 
That is seriously hilarious.

Respawn is honestly doing a bang-up job thus far. I mean there have been problems, but at least they are constantly informing us of issues and handling it well.

Wimbledon of cheaters = amazing. I hope there is a twitch stream.
 
I want to read all the forum posts on the hack websites saying how they got banned. haha
 
Based on how they deal with bans in the other popular shooters, aimbotters will simply wait for the next Titanfall sale on Origin and grab up another copy. The dedicated trolls just rebuy the game in any case, they aren't going to sit around playing with other cheaters, but it makes for nice PR since everyones buying into the idea.
