NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Pretty sure that extra $40 was used for refreshments & dinner w/the captain for your M1 to enjoy itself on its scenic cruise.. our US M1s were stuffed in shipping containers and probably didn't get to enjoy the trip one bit :D

Thank you dear AFD. Tonight I will drift off to sleep contently in the knowledge that my M1 is enjoying a beautiful sunset over the Indian Ocean and will return to her POSH cabin to snuggle up in soft blankets. :D

Archived doesn't mean anything other than that certain records older than a specific number of days are removed from front-line storage. Our records have been in their system now for over six weeks and most shipments don't take that long. So their system is just removing the older records to make room for all of the other shipments that are coming in and out of the system. If you are on shipment #25, most likely you should have received your case by now given that you are in Colorado. If it is shipment #26 then we should start to see them arriving from the east coast to the west coast starting tomorrow hopefully. If you are on a shipment other than that, then there is probably a problem, but it has nothing to do with the Netherlands and Germany issues (I really feel for you guys). Which shipment are you on? I would like to know if we have a slow #25.

I have no idea what shipment I am on. I may have missed that somewhere.

For those wishing for the new SS psu and thinking it will appear in January are probably going to be dissapointed. Q1 runs from January to March. I'm betting it will be more towards March. That's if they even get it into stores Q1. When they mention Q1 its probably a 'tentative' date. In another word, dont hold your breath. LOL :D

Sorry to be a party pooper but experience has taught me these things never come when they say they will. Its usually later rather than sooner. :(

And it should say the "Despatch" number (for US, boat #25 arrived in NJ last Wed, boat #26 is a week behind, and *should* be arriving tomorrow.. maybe.. hopefully).

Are there still any NJ residents awaiting boat #26 still pulling port watch for us? I'll be checking this thread like a hawk the next few days, in case tracking isn't updated.. I'll be expecting mine about 2 to 3 days after NJ and NY get theirs.

somehow, I doubt tracking will be updated in a timely manner

if she gets here in the next 2 weeks, I'm definitely going to cave for the 450W and be done with it... and then feel bad when the 550W comes out

To summarize: I can't win.

Wow! The imagery is so warm and beautiful. It must be enjoying cool drinks, sweet tropical fruits, the warm ocean breezes, and the gentle rocking of the waves in a suite filled with lavender and lilacs. You must be at peace. I know I am now. :D

By the way, why are the quote links and page numbers messed up? Its been like this for a few weeks now. Did we break the software by generating so many pages, or does it have to do with pictures being removed in past pages throwing the page numbers off, or something?

R9 290X
Just one SSD.
Low profile heatsink/fan on 4770

This unit is very effective for cooling the 290X. It will take a total of three slots of space, so this case will work for that. Mount the SSD on the front panel to be safe.

Depending on how low profile the heatsink is on your CPU you might be able to get away with mounting the rad/fan combo on set of mounts more towards the back of the side panel. Otherwise, you will have to use the SFX PSU and then use the front set of side panel mounts for the rad/fan.

Experimentation might be the best way to figure out what works best. Especially when you start putting heat through the parts and seeing where the hotspots develop.

Picked up my two from post office purgatory this afternoon :)

Were you on the #25 boat? If so it looks like some of us on #26 may not get them before the 25th. They seem to be stringing out along the way. If not and you were on the #26, then we are here! Let us know. I don't see a tracking # date or anything on the spreadsheet for your entry.

how do you elect to pick it up from the post office? I certainly don't want mine out in the cold all day long, who know if it will be snowing

Why would snowing be a problem?:confused: Aluminum should not lose shape in cold weather...

I was on the early shipment #1 (25-boat)

Has anybody else noticed that the availability of the ST45SF-G PSU has been really short recently?

I've checked several different retailers and most are either OOS or higher price than normal. Newegg seems to be one of the few that still has it in stock.

I wonder if Silverstone has something up their sleeves for CES? Or it could be that Valve used up all of the stock for the beta Steam boxes. :)

Its because most of the m1 went to the us so people are grabbing the only unit they can, even when the 550w is out the 450w will still be produced.

Out of curiosity has there been any information/news about further production runs or the design for this case being licensed/sold to an established case manufacturer?

I am part of #25 and am still waiting for my M1 in San Francisco. I am hoping it shows up in the next couple of days...

I must be doing something wrong....every time I try to check mine it just says "No Data Available"

The "Despatch" number has been like that for almost week now (it updated on 11th December). I've asked twice at national postal company whether the package with my tracking number has entered customs, and they say that it has not. I have just now emailed them to explain you are insisting the package has arrived in Netherlands, and they are going to do another search based on my name and address instead of the tracking number.

Edit: Mina from PostNL just emailed me and said the package has not yet been scanned in the Netherlands, not under that tracking number, nor my name, nor my address. Now I'm started to be more convinced that the 11th December date is when it left port of Kaohsiung. So Netherlands customers seem to be looking at early January for customs, mid Jan for delivery.

I made a mistake.

The ship to Germany left NOV 27, will take 6-8 weeks.
The ship to Netherlands left DEC 11, will take 8-10 weeks.

This is my oversight (nothing to do with Necere). When the Postal Staff told me everything shipped NOV 7, they meant all packages left the postal office to shipping port, but the items remained at the port in Taiwan for a month before there was a ship available. For the last 10 times that I asked about shipping, I didn't dig deep enough to uncover this misleading answer.

It took a very long call and a conversation with the regional supervisor to find this information.

I know you are on the Priority Shipping List and there are others as well.

For Priority List customers that don't receive M1 by JAN 2014, we will do something. Let me touch base with Necere about this new info, will make announcement soon.

meh...looks like i'll get a cheap prodigy for the waiting time to at least use my new components.

should have been air shipped, for 40 USD extra that we paid

Looking to make a partial refund towards shipping, but need to get a hold of Necere first.

It's strange that some on the west coast got theirs on Saturday and others haven't yet, especially in a large city like yours. I hope you get yours soon.

Or did you happen to change the number of posts viewable per page?

I haven't changed any of that. If you look at the last page number now it is this page (434), but as this page grows longer, it will eventually put the next page number up on the list before that page exists. If you click it it will jump back to this page since there is no next page yet. All of that is server-side page generation I believe. Also the links in the quotes don't go to their correct locations anywhere or anywhere at all sometimes. Just using Chrome, no changes to my account settings. No one else seeing this problem? No big deal just a little annoying.

And then I'm afraid on top of this it will sit in customs for a while. I know you were worried about German customs because they are strict, but at least they are efficient. Netherlands customs is strict and slow. Even when package is accurately labelled and invoiced it can take a week. So... we're looking at late February at best, early April at worst.

I've seen the issue with the phantom next page showing up, but I haven't run into the quote links going to the wrong place (though I don't click on them very much to start with). Also in Chrome, also haven't changed the default posts-per-page.

While you were on the phone with the regional supervisor were you also able to confirm #26's arrival or arrival date? Also would $40 have given US orders an option for air delivery or would it have been more than that? If more, would it have been an option to ship to Seattle or California and then land deliver from there for $40 more?

Thanks. I think it broke after the last outage they had. Oh well.

I've also noticed the extra page phenomenon before, however it has always been when I am NOT logged in at the time. Once logged in, it correctly displays the amount of pages.

Haven't noticed any abnormalities with quotations though.

You're right. It looks like the phantom page appears when logged off but not when logged on. At least right now. The broken quote links work sometimes and not others whether you are logged in or not. For example go to page 433 post #8642 by AFD and click the quote from Parish_Lane. It will take you nowhere. Then go to #8644 and click the quote link from WiSK. It will take you to the top of the page rather than WiSKs post. There are others all over that work and don't work. Some take you to the wrong page, others don't do anything, and other work correctly. I think their database is corrupted and becoming more so over time.
